was just going through a few topics and this caught my attention, and since that thread looks pretty much dead i thought i would create a new one to add my thoughts .. so i would start by replying to as much criticisms as i can okay.

A General informs his commanders his intent to invade well in advance before an operation. The plan was to remove the spirit, or a portion of it, to cause an effect. The event changed the rules of the game.

You make some interesting points about a pre-flood anarchy verses post-flood civil law being instituted.

If it was God’s intent just to wipe out wicked mankind he should have just used one angel to do the job. He went well out of his way to bring about the flood event. I believe his main goal was to change the atmosphere surrounding earth. The rainbow, fermentation and a gradual life span reduction were a result of a new atmosphere.

What did God accomplish with the Flood?

He ruined what was good.

Genesis 1:31 - "it was very good." Genesis 6:13 - "I will destroy them with the earth." or "I will wipe them out along with the earth." and the NWT reads "I am bringing them to ruin together with the earth."

God's intent was to change the nature of the planet. Long living corrupt human beings were making a whole mess out of the situation. Idle hands are the devil's workshop, as the saying goes. People were living too long and boredom made us do the unimaginable.

So the Governing Body alone is now the Faithful and Discreet Slave?

i'm just catching up on the latest buzz here and it appears that there is a lot of buzz on the 'new light' coming from the watchtower concerning the governing body and the faithful and discreet slave.

if true, i can really use this to trick my wife and in-laws (who are coming in this weekend) to contradict the new light.. at first i was going to say that this can answer moshe's question regarding who really is the fds but i understand that the change simply means when the body meets on doctrinal matters is when they are collectively the fds.

is that correct?.

What is interesting about that comment 'justsaying' is that it shows Satan was allowed to corrupt the first Governing Body in the first century through a hostile takeover by Rome. It makes you wonder if he's going to make another attempt with the current one when Babylon the Great falls. Is the eighth king going to regulate religion when the time is right? With a global community comes a global governance in order to keep peace.

The world currently has bodies such as the World Trade Organization to settle trading disputes between nations and the World Health Organization is present to monitor disease outbreaks throughout the world. There are other United Nation bodies that preside over critical matters that try to keep global peace.

The world now needs a World Financial Organization to bring market stability to a fragile system always on the brink. The G8 can't seem to cut it.

The last one to come will be some World Religious Organization - A religious governing body that regulates religions so there is continued peace throughout the world. Organizations such as Freedom from Religion foundation is paving the way to pacify religious customs that interfere with human rights.

this is the summary of the rumored new light from the 2012 annual meeting, as posted by cedars.. the faithful and discreet slave was not appointed at pentecost 33ce, meaning that there has not been a continuous line of members of the slave class on the earth down through the ages.

the slave class was only appointed for the first time by christ in 1919.the faithful and discreet slave is a small group of anointed brothers during jesus presence serving at watchtower headquarters who are directly involved in the preparing and dispensing of spiritual food.

the individual members of the governing body are not the faithful and discreet slave.

The other partakers will become disgruntled because of this news. They are not special as they had hoped. When the society refuses to answer their letters on the matter they will stop eating the memorial emblems in protest. The memorial partaking numbers will drop dramatically as the GB hoped. They could go so far as to say these protesting ones were part of the evil slave.

the whole concept of the faithful and discreet slave in the jw religion goes back to charles taze russell and/or his followers calling him the faithful and wise servant.

how in the blue blazes can they say he wasn't part of the faithful and discreet slave?.

quite a demotion, it must be said, from the faithful and discreet slave in the flesh to not even being a part of something that rutherford's lowly henchmen on the board of directors got to be a part of!.

Of course they do. They want to rid themselves of their Masonic ties with him, along with his divine pyramid theory. They'll have to remove the three photos that contain the Tetragrammaton within a triangle in the Divine Name brochure.

today's watchtower made it clear that jehovah uses the governing body, no mention of the faithful & discreet slave.. i think they need new light on this in the next year or two..

Maybe it's a sign. Jesus just arrived and he's appointing all of you over his belongings. Go back to the KH and take them over, but by order and arrangement of course.

Since the Memorial partaking numbers have been going up year after year the GB figured they send out this message of understanding to stall the continued flood of professed chosen ones. They hoped the number would be reducing but that's not happening.

Here's some Memorial partaking figures:

2008 - 9,986

2010 - 11,202

2011 - 11,824

The 144,000 slots should have been filled up by now.

gen.18;1-8 the lord appeared to him by the oak tree.. gen.18:5 he fetch a morsel of bread for his guest.. gen.18;6 sarah makes meal, knead it and made cakes.. gen.18:7 abraham ran to the herd and took a calf, tender.

and good.. gen.18:8 he set it before them and he stood by them under.

I agree MrFreeze, it was a good movie. I saw it for the first time a few weeks ago. Had to mention it after reading this thread.

Abraham's story is significant because the three largest religions are based off that guy.

Who's to say these three weren't just roving travelers that were overtaken by spirit beings. Kind of reminds me of the movie "Book of Eli" where Eli (Denzel Washington) inherits special powers to defeat those who try to stop him. In the movie Eli says a voice told him a path was laid out where he would reach his final destination in the west coast. When ever his life was in danger he was able to slaughter multitudes with ease. I know this is just fantasy but it's could explain it from a physical perspective.
