and i am finding the adjustment to the real world far more difficult than i ever imagined...i f...it has been about five years since i totally woke up to the fraudulant nwt and then all my other doubts i had carried for years were proved true as well.
but almost all of my few friends are exjw or slack jw's and i feel so isolated...my sons friends are mostly exjw too but not their gf's and they have way more normal friends .
how have you done at replacing lifelong friends and family?
Ouch.....

recent events and book reads (one suggested by cofty i believe- thank you) have lead me to the only logical and acceptable conclusion:.
there is no god.. simple logical reasoning: matter can neither me created or destroyed.
so the amount of mass in the universe is constant.
What a great thing to read, made my day. Good work.
Reason, evidence and effort along with a huge dollop of honesty will lead people to this conclusion, there is no other.
after leaving the dub religion behind, i read everything that i could get my hands on, be it about other religions, beliefs, gods, occult, evolution - you name it - i read it.
i did this to 'catch up' and to educate myself, so that when i can to a decision it would be an intellectual / educational one.
not just because some book or person told me to believe it.. i have over time and with reading aids come to totally believe and accept evolution.
May I strongly and humbly suggest reading "The greatest show on earth" by Richard Dawkins, not only will it inform you about evolution, but give you mountainous undeniable, evidence that you can share And help others with.
Now you have opened your mind to science and evidence, don't stop there, go look at the data, it's where the exciting element to science begins....

cults merge in a $10 billion transaction.
the cults known as "jehovah's witnesses" and "scientology" announced on wednesday their merger.. observers on both religions are shocked.. "i can't believe that they would do that!
i realised something today.... we all happily accepted something really ridiculous.....something that if worded how i will word it now, we would have rejected as ridiculous, but after a moments thought, would have to concede.. we once followed the governing body because we believed they had supernatural powers.
how ridiculous you may say, no we didn't!
of or relating to things that cannot be explained according to natural laws.
Exactly Galaxie,
the last discussion I had with an elder, I raised this point. I asked why they made mistakes, he said "because they are just men reading and interpreting the bible" ....so I said, "well I can do that, surely it is safer that I do it as I know my motives, I don't know these men." He then, like grass in the wind hopped to the ..."well they have gods spirit directing them"...: which brought us back to ..."why do they make mistakes?"
They can't have it both ways....

What part of asking a deity for guidance with your eyes closed and head bowed ,as its spokesman on earth, to be directed by his 'active force' is ....natural? Explainable by science? It is by definition a super-natural claim.
That was kinda my point mad Irish dude....

Don't take it so personally, it is just an indication of the power of indoctrination. In the cold light of day, what we believed was ridiculous, yet we all whole-heartedly did at one point believe the governing body were more than human via supernatural powers from God. The pope claims the same supernatural role also.
It fascinates me, but I am honestly embarrassed, I was likewise brought in via my parents so feel no shame, I didn't choose it, but it is none the less utter hilarity to think we believed Anthony the Terd was magical.
Maybe dumb is the wrong word, but it is how you are left feeling when someone cons you,

'Supernatural'
The GB claim to have a unique authority and ability in interpretation of ancient Hebrew texts (despite not being able to read it) and FUTURE predictions, including SPECIFIC dates and events. They use these texts and a supernatural power that helps them to interpret, to provide life, medical, spiritual, emotional, relationship, marriage, family, career, education, clothing, hobby, sex, advice.
What separates them from the average human, the average JW.....? A degree in ancient Hebrew studies? A degree in theology? A unique knowledge of bible history and writing? ....... NO .....they know all this and have the authority to lead 7 million people, because they were told they should via a supernatural force from a Jewish deity. They claimed that God anointed them personally.
In addition to this, they have for decades claimed multiple (lame) miracles such as making a tv station online in record time, installing new printers during miraculous good weather etc etc.
Wow..... if I had a '£' for every time I said ..."How dumb were we!"
oh, there is one brother that keeps prattling on about "the 5 pillars of faith and worship".
- prayer.
- personal study.
Wow the JW's are such a confused hodge-podge of mystic, supernatural ideas.
The five pillars....is an Islamic reference. It is not found in the bible, though it is in the Quaran and hadiths.
