well we got the phone call from the elder to let us know of the decision to disfellowship us.
the one elder called while the other sat on the phone as a "witness".
the second elder was once a close friend.

when the elder called to talk to me the other day, he told me that one of my problems was that he didn't want to boost my ego, but that i have a higher than average intellectual ability and part of my problem was that i look too deep into things.
i tend to analyze things a bit too much.
he thinks its because i went to college, that may be part of my problem.. imagine that, i'm just too smart.

Imagine that, I'm just too smart. I guess we are all just too smart for our own good. Jehovah only wants stupid people in his new world. Well, stupid people iritate the heck out of me and if that is all that is going to be there, count me out.

as a mystical christian, i am just as distressed about child molestation as is mr bowen.
however i wonder about this man's motives.
why did he choose to handle his row with the witness organization in this way?
Why should he have to loose all his friends and family when he has done nothing wrong. By going to the press and making himself as visible as possible is lessens the liklihood of the org. DF him. If you keep things quiet they can do what they want and no one knows and those in the org only know what they've been told by the org. I think he is going about it in the right way.
If he gets 5 min of fame so be it. He has invested alot of time and energy in this important cause. So many of us even though we agree with him, just let things go on because we don't have the time and energy it takes to fight something like this.

Elsewhere, that is the reason I want to DA myself. If they DF me, the rumors will be (did she do something imoral, etc.) If I DA it's me saying I don't want to be a part of your organization anymore. I feel like I am making a statement to them instead of them saying we don't want you anymore.
I really don't want to play their game, but it realy is inevitable. It's all in how I am marked. DF or DA

ok, the obvious choice is the writing department.
but, my hands down favorite is the lame-ass "art department.
" perhaps if they had allowed their members to explore the world of the arts, they wouldn't have been stuck with people who basically draw nothing but stick figures.. my daughter is 12 and her drawings have more depth than most of what appears in the magazines and publications.. any other nominees, or is the art department gonna run away with it?.
I can't say that the writing dept is the worse, because they are good at what they do. )The ones who are doing the writing today most of the time just re-word what they said before, same old BS different words, so the original writers were good, the ones they have now are just copycats.) Not that it is right, but you have to admit they are pretty good at brainwashing, and making things sound good when they are really lame.

My husband and kids say be done w/them. Tell them like it is. That way they will just go away and leave us alone.
