  I told my dad this morning.........

  he asked if i was going to the circuit assembly this weekend.

  he asked why.

  i just said after a long pause, dad it's not the truth (you have to understand that i'm the one who preached to this man and got him in the truth) the conversation lasted about 5 minutes with him saying well who else teaches the right thing, you have to understand, jehovah has to have an organization.

  Cygnus-We are not saved by belonging to an org., we are saved by putting faith in Jesus Christ, it is due to God's grace that we are saved in this manner. It doesn't say anywhere that we have to attend 5 meetings a week, go door to door. We are saved by the Grace of God if we put faith in his son. That's it.

  The WT cannot be Jehovah's org because they are a false prophet. A false prophet is one who gives wrong or false prophesy. WT is guilty of this. If you can show me anywhere in the bible someplace where one of God's prophets gave a message to God's people and it was an incorrect message because they misunderstood or misinterpreted it and then later were given "New Light" and the message was then changed. I may reconsider my thoughts.

I just said after a long pause, Dad it's not the truth (you have to understand that I'm the one who preached to this man and got him in the truth) The conversation lasted about 5 minutes with him saying well who else teaches the right thing, you have to understand, Jehovah has to have an organization. You have to realize that they are imperfect men and they are going to make mistakes, Jehovah corrects their mistakes in time. I said what about the people that are hurt by their mistakes in the mean time, he said well just trust in Jehovah he will make it right. We touched on a few subjects; the annointed, heavenly hope, etc. I assured him I am still a Christian, I just don't want to be a Jehovah's Witness. He was not happy. We will continue this conversation because he and I had to return to work. I'm so stressed out, I'm sick to my stomach. I know I'm doing the right thing, I just hate to disappoint/hurt him. I don't know why I'm going on about this to all of you, I just needed to vent and perhaps ask for your prayers on his behalf so that he too can see the light!

  My son is Tevya!

  my son's high school is putting on the play fiddler on the roof.

  he has the lead tevya.

  last night was opening night.

  My son's High School is putting on the play Fiddler on the Roof. He has the lead Tevya. Last night was opening night. Those kids did a fantastic job. Although, I may be partial, my son was so good. I kept thinking, wow, he really is talented.

  Not that any of you care, I just thought I'd post something positive.

  How many found the REAL truth from the internet?

  if it was'nt for the internet i would still be stuck in the endless cycle of drone like meeting attendance and field service.

  (technically i'm still in but not for long) i'm really glad that some ex-jws took the time to speak about the real truth.

  for the longest time i always thought that what i was taught was correct, i never even felt the need to question it or validate it with actual facts.

  My mom's circuit was disbanded

  well, i found out yesterday that the circuit that my mother attends will cease to exist as of this summer.

  the circuit has existed pretty much since the beginning of time.

  due to low attendance, and gradual drying up of all jw's in rural saskatchewan, they are closing one or two congregations every year.

  I'm so sorry. Take a headset with a CD player. It will look like your hearing impaired and your tuning in but you can play your favorite music/book.

  unfortunately i don't think i'm going to be able to do the slow fade as i had hoped.

  there is no way they are going to df me, if i go it will be on my terms!

  The congregation we go to is pretty small. It's a very small town. We were pretty active attended all meeting always regular in service for the past 12 years. I was irregular at meeting attendance for a few months and about 4 months ago I just stopped completely. We had book study at my house until 5 months ago. I don't think they are going to just forget about us. Most will there are just a few people that are close with my kids that won't let the fade thing happen, unfortunately the little girl who is my daughters friend is an Elder and a very vocal one!!! I have been trying to fade for about 4 months and I've gotten several visits and phone calls from various ones in the cong.

  My daughter said I sugar coated it the other day when my friend asked if she would see me at the circuit assembly this coming weekend. I said I wasn't sure if we'd be there or not. If I said no she'd want to know why if I said yes she'd be expecting me to be there.

  It's kind of funny, at first the kids were very upset when I expressed my change in beliefs and that I wasn't going anymore, now it's like ok let's be done with them. I don't think they realize the effect it could have on their lives.

  I was hoping to just fade and go away. I am having a problem because of one close friend of my daughters whose mother is also my good friend. My family and I would just like to leave it (the borg) all behind us, but our friends want explanations, why aren't we at the meetings/service/assembly etc. I am not a liar. I'm lousy at it even if I wanted to lie. I'm busy just doesn't cut it anymore. We were a very active family until about 6 to 9 months ago. I told my friend on the phone this weekend how I felt about things, so I know she is going to talk to the elders (because that is the loving thing to do!) We just don't want to go to meetings and we don't want to pretend we are interested etc. It is sad we had some good friends.

  Thank you for your support and answers, I guess you guys are right it is leaving on their terms. But I hate the idea of them df me. I can handle DA because that is in a sense saying I don't want anything to do with you guys anymore.

  Dateline

  i know everyone is disgusted that dateline has not aired yet, but i can promise you that it will be airing within the next 3 weeks.

  we have been in touch almost daily with the producer calling to tie in last minute details.

  our family was filmed for ten hours last july and that was just our family.

  Well, here's my story... Like it or not.

  wow... i feel guilty about even being here, let alone posting my story.

  but here goes.... it was back in the late 60's that my dad (actually stepdad who adopted me and my older sister when he married our mother) got witnessed to by a guy that he worked with.

  he was invited to our house for dinner along with his wife and that was the beginning of my new life.

  I use to think it was the truth, Read the bible... Read the whole chapter of John, & Romans. Eph 2:8&9. Pray to let the real truth come into your heart and mind. You will feel soooo relieved. I've never knows so many depressed people as I have in the organization. I swear to you I've never known so many people on Prozac, Xanax etc. They read the scriptures to you like when Jesus said Take my yoke upon you for my Load is Light, I never really understood what he meant, when your a witness you don't feel like it is a light load. At least I never did. Above all PRAY.
