I recieved a call in the morning with a sweet voice singing 'Happy Birthday' to me. It was so nice. In 3 days Jack is taking me for a HUGE romantic meal in an Italian restaurant. He told me price is no object so Im having beef flambed in Brandy! :) Exquisite!
This is SO exciting. I dont understand why we never did this as JW's. I think its because if we did one of heads would have been chopped off or something?

on page 71, he speaks about the growing acceptance of homosexuality amidst religions.
he claims that 12% of jw's think gay behavior is ok.. really?

I think there are some great points here. I am quite happy that I have kinda moved away from the whole gay JW thing. I really don’t care less anymore. I have turned my attention now to being happy and helping any closeted gay JWs to realise who they are and that they can be happy without the borg. It’s such a blessing to listen to such ones and it’s a happy moment when they realise that they are not alone.
I hope that 12% finds its way out safely and without getting hurt.
Wishful thinking I’m afraid. This organisation does not treat my kind lightly. x

1 Samuel 16:7 is a good scripture. :) I take a lot of personal comfort from it, knowing that whatever decision the JW elders decided to make regarding myself, Jehovah truly knows what Im really feeling. Here is another scripture to complement it:
1 Corinthians 4:3-5
3 I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself. 4 My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me. 5 Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from God.

i guess the majority of you haven't noticed that being an american, canadian, british, australia... (being involved in the anglosaxon culture) but there are situations in other cultures that make jws seem a bit bizarre.. since the watchtower is quite rigid and bureaucratic, it's reluctant to adapt to different cultures.
so sometimes even the brothers feel very uncomfortable adopting all this "watchtower culture" and even not knowing what to do in some situations.. for example, here in spain women keep their maiden names.
but for some reason, it's the watchtower culture to adopt a particular system.
I lived in Granada for 6 months and I thought the Spanish brothers there were crazy. Hehe... they were so serious and stern. They did no tallow their kids to do ANYTHING! The Ferias (which are immensly fun) were banned. I can understand why they may ban the Feria of the Corpus Cristi, but still i dont know. Its just a bit of fun. In other places they were just soooooo strict. How boring.

Lol... You will probably find that those 12% are surppressed homosexuals. Hahahaha! I certainly would have agreed with it when I was a JW! :)

this has been an interesting science project to say the least.
here is what i have learned:.
you have about 6 types of people posting on jwn, they all fit into a profile.. #1 you have people like me that ran the race, exemplified conduct while in the jw cult and learned through observation that there was a severe disconnect between truth, and the jw cult's statements.
Interesting. One thing I have noticed from almost everyone on this forum is that none of us seem to judge each others actions and choices. I remember when I came out and told everyone I was gay. This forum supported me 100%. Not one person tried to show me scripture to change my view. I believe we have all had enough of being forced into a mould and we now all have learnt that life is not about forcing people to be something, but it is about helping people to be happy. Thanks to you all.
Thanks to the organisation we have all learnt about the type of people we SHOULDNT be. :)

just having a rant.. it has been over 6 months now since i was disfellowshipped for being gay or whatever it was, and i still do not give a damn.
it hasnt fazed me one bit.
we even went on our first holiday to italy the other week.
Hehe. The holiday was fabulous! 2 nights in Italy. We went to Verona, Lake Garda and Lake Como. Lots of romantic places. Beautiful. We also had proper Italian pizza which was mucho gustoso! So nice!!! :) Jack loved it too. It was fab.
As regards yesterday, I spent about 3 hours last night putting all my feelings into a word document. I tend to find that the best way to clear my head is to write it all down onto a page. It spans 4 pages which shocked me. So much nonsense and stupidity that this organisation has caused. Seriously... im just TOTALY perplexed by it all. Anyway, i may send it to the sister. Here are some excerpts:

Throughout all the troubles, all the worries, all the stresses, they are there for you and support you. The love they show is loyal and true. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things, but best of all love never fails (1 Corinthians 13). When I read this chapter I cannot help but compare this marvellous description of love with the love I am shown by the brothers and sisters at the command of this organisation. I find that the love shown is severely lacking. Despite the fact that this organisation claims to represent God who is the personification of love itself, I am shown no regard, I am shunned, and I was shown no empathy or understanding. The ‘love’ shown did not bear anything, did not hope anything, did not endure anything, and I genuinely believe it failed. I do not believe for one second that such ‘love’ came from Jehovah or his system of working. It certainly does not fall in line with his most principal quality of love. Even for the worst sinners, Jehovah still shows some compassion and would never treat them in such an undignified and unchristian manner."

He said I should come regularly and enjoy the biblical discussions the church holds. I attend regularly now. We speak about the bible, particularly the gospel, and what it means for us. There is no slant. There is no taint. There is no pressure. Its just the bible, the bible, the bible. Its so refreshing to hear sermons about Jesus and his importance. Every single meeting is about how we can draw close to God and Jesus and how we can apply the bible in our lives. In some ways it pains me to say this, but they do not waste time talking about how to overcome conversation stoppers, how we should be dressing for conventions, how we should be keeping our cars clean and tidy, how we should be following other silly procedures, how we should be following the rules of men, and how we should be studying other publications other than the bible. They teach the bible, Jesus and the truth which he gave to us. That is not false religion. That is truth. FACT ! "
