Dear Explorer,
No one is sure when the program will air. Keep watching this board and your TV guide. The feeling is that it will air this fall.

Dear Neighbor (AKA D Wilt)
It is interesting to watch how people FREAK out when presented with things that are dangerous to their belief system. It is absolute panic that you can 'hear' in this woman's 'voice.' Only she doesn't know it is panic...

not counting your personal regrets, what was the greatest waste of life and talent you ran across in the organization.. i have 2:.
1. a guy who was a brilliant grand master chess player who gave it up when he became a witness.. 2. a beautiful young lady that i dated (the last i dated) who gave up a scholarship to julliard school for music to study opera and who was working as a bank teller.. can people be prosecuted for murdering dreams?.
hugs.
#1 My best friend in the Org as kid, 4th genneration JW....she learned to read when she was 2. She got straight "A's" all through school. She graduated with something like a 4.5 gpa. She is one of the smartest people I have ever met. An amazing mind. Every year in high school she was voted president of the Honor Society, but had to turn it down. When she graduated, she turned down full, 4 year scholarships to several schools, including MIT. She had not even applied for these scholarships...the schools came looking for her.
She became a pioneer after she graduated, and I think she still is.

well, i'm getting closer and closer to turning my life upside down and breaking away from my 43 years of conservative living.
any risk experiences out there?.
the risk i want to take is leaving banking, living a much more bohemiam life, maybe work as a waiter or bartender or something, go to school, travel, work on my furniture art, write, read, live.. aaaack.
Dear Joel,
Can I tell you my story? No?
But I must!
I had a very stable job and two kids and a husband out of work. I didn't make a lot of money, but enough to just get by. I did not like my job at all, but felt trapped. I had no life, no freedom, but I had a paycheck and health insurance.
One day I realized I was going to be poor the rest of my life. I cried a little over it, and then decided that from that moment on, I was going to lead the best damn life a poor person could!
It wasn't long before I realized that since I was going to be poor forever, I might as well work in a job I liked while I was being poor!
It was so hard to get up the guts to put in my notice at work. I had worked at this job my entire adult life. There was so much fear involved. Not only that, but all of my co-workers told me I was crazy! But I hung on to a couple thoughts: #1 I was SURE this was the right thing to do, #2 If things didn't work out, I could always go back to the crappy job I hated. Hanging on to these two thoughts for dear life, I went to my boss, and put in my notice.
It was the best thing I ever did. As soon as I put in my notice, a huge weight seemed to be lifted off my shoulders. I felt so good! I felt like I had some power in my life. I felt liberated. It was only a matter of days before I found a job in the field I had always wanted to work in. I swear, it was meant to be. It has only been a couple of years, and I make more money, have fun everyday, make a difference in people’s lives, and get every summer off. It is so much more than I ever hoped for. A job ½ this good would keep me quite happy.
I used to always make choices based on "What is the safest?" Now I make choices based on quality of life.
For me, taking the risk was the best thing that I ever did.

im sure you have heard comments like these from naive jws:.
the society never said that armageddon would come in 1975, it was just a few brothers who went over the top.
(so you dont remember the watchtower article why are you looking forward to 1975?
I was actually starting to hope that maybe the pedophile issue was going to make a difference to some of my loved ones, in addition to changing a horrible policy in the Borg.
Naive indeed. It all came crashing down on me yesterday when I read Tina's post about how the latest WT redefines loyalty as defending the Org in it’s time of ‘misfortune and distress.’ That is basically what it says.
That's when I realized that the Org is already one step ahead. They already are getting the troops ready, already telling them what they should think when they hear the prase, "JWs protect pedophiles."
That was depressing when I thought about it. But then I thought, how can we take back the advantage? How can we open the most eyes? If we wanted to be one step ahead of the WT, what would we be doing?
Thoughts?

did anyone who received this wt ,notice that loyalty was only extended to the org, marriage mates and family 'who are believers' the rest of you moms and dads sisters and brothers, etc.
you're out in the cold.. the article is titled,'what does it mean to be loyal?'....
is this damage control?
"It [loyalty] is intervention on behalf of someone suffering misfortune or distress. It is demonstration of friendship...It includes the idea of loving attachment along with the taking of positive action so as to benefit others" - Pg. 20 "
From this quote, we can see the Org defining loyalty as sticking by, AND DEFENDING the Org when they are attacked in the media and in the courts.
They are getting the R&F ready for Dateline, etc, I am sure of it.
It sounds like this is the entire purpose of the article. Food at the proper time indeed.
They had a similar article a few years ago, but I don't think that this was their definition of loyalty back then.
Interesting how this article seems to be talking a lot about love. Connecting loyalty with love. So if someone you love molests someone you should defend(be loyal to)them, because that is love. Forget about loving the victims. They arn't your family, you don't know them. What have they ever done for you to get your loyalty? ("If loving kindness is demonstrated toward you, then the same can be expected in return. Loyalty is repaid in kind" - Pg. 22)
I can't wait to read the whole article. Hum, where am I gonna get it?

I will never forget that day, when I went out to mow my lawn and Armageddon started. That was quite a day!
At first, I couldn’t believe it. But then when God started smiting people left and right, I knew this was it! I ran joyously into the house to gather up my children so we could start getting ready for the big Post Armageddon party that was going to be at the Kingdom Hall. I figured I might as well start getting them all ready, since it takes forever to get kids ready! How strange to realize that NOW I really would have forever!
Once the kids were cleaned up and dressed like JWs, we went outside to begin the walk to the Kingdom Hall, and to the enjoy the sites of Armageddon that we had all been waiting so long to see! The kids were excited because we would finally get to see our next-door neighbors, the Mormons, dead. And I was excited because maybe they would have some good stuff in their house that we could use.
When we passed their house, however, we could see, to our disappointment, that they were still alive. They were watching us from their window, and the father was motioning for us to come in out of Armageddon. HA! Doesn’t he realize WE are safe?
Once we got to the Kingdom Hall, we were surprised to see no one else there and the Kingdom Hall burned to the ground. Amazingly, the charred remains of the Kingdom Hall had fallen in such a way to spell out the words, “YOU WERE WRONG!” Wow, I thought. That’s weird. I wonder where everyone else is?
