Hey Zep,
You weren't late; you got an earlier start than most people on this year's Christmas.
Hey Zep,
You weren't late; you got an earlier start than most people on this year's Christmas.
went to an interesting site the other day concerning 1914 and the wtbts.
it seems well researched and true.
hope you'll visit it and comment here.. http://home.online.no/~jansh/wteng/chron.html.
Zep,
Armageddon did happen in 1925. It was invisible, and we are living in an invisible Paradise.

Well Path,
I know what Jesus said about not letting the left hand know what the right hand is doing, but I think the replies gave me a sense of what causes are important to the folks. Someone commented on giving to people who can't give back. Heck, I've been doing that for more than 35 years with my children!
Over the years, I've given to the United Way, and, hehehe, given my demon possessed cloths to Goodwill, but seriously folks, I would like to do something physical, like work at a Food Bank for the poor. Haven't done it yet, thought about it.
my huband posed something to me yesterday that i had never even thought of before.
he said, wouldn't it be possible that if a group <ie.
jehovahs witnesses> fell out of gods favor, what would stop him from choosing another group?
MDS,
Are you changing doctrine on us? Earlier you wrote that the modern day Israelites, the JWs, had become corrupt and that, you and possibly others would point out their evil ways as did Isaiah to the real Israelites, and some would come to repentance and then this modern day Israel would rule over billions of Gentiles. Now you are saying that Jehovah will switch organizations. Please don't give me 45 scriptures; just tell me which of the two things that you stated that you believe.
hello all.. this is a quote from an earlier conversation in the 1975 thread.. are you saying that the garden was weeded from those who put too much faith in "god's spirit-directed organization"?
did these people listen to too much of their "food at the proper time"?.
unfortunately, i never received a response from smartgirlpw, only insults of "boo boos" and truth hurting.. i would like to know if you personally (yes, i am asking for your opinion here, your pearls, or two cents) believe that you should not take very seriously what is stated in the wt publications, and if so, or even if not, please explain.. this was my original question before i lashed out at you for claiming we were having a pitty party and you began to lash out at me, java, pathofthorns, trevor, etc.
MDS,
I am going to try to state this as rationaly as possible, so that you don't call me bad names, but I have to agree with Ianao, on the fact that you chid and belittle people with the best of them. I remember on one post I asked for a point of clarification, and you implyed that stupidity and lack of truth seeking was my problem, and you wouldn't lower youself to give an answer, rather insulting (I will go find the docuementation if you want) Now this time I ask you a simple question, that you won't answer because you say I'm insincere. Why did you come to that conclusion?? Even if I was the devil himself, wouldn't to be good if you answered for the benefit of the others here?
One other thing you do that I find annoying, which I picked up on when reading Ianao's last comment, is your referral to the "truth seekers", which implies that if we don't agree with you or if we just don't get it that we are not truth seekers. That is a put down as big as any you accuse us of.
Deacon,
This weeding out arguement is highly insulting, don't you think? What they are saying that the most faithful, and therefore, the most crushed should leave, while the unbelievers who won't speak up and say so, are flowers in God's garden. Isn't that pathetic.

MDS,
I don't mind if you quote scripture. The only comment I made on the subject is that you provide a concluding statement. I went back and read all your posts for the past six week or go and got the gist of it. Now regarding my sincerity. I simply asked for a clarification of something you said. Tryed to approach it "scientificaly" as you advised above. I think it's a clear, straight forward question. I didn't express anger or sarcasm, so why not give an answer?

MDS,
You said we have to believe every word of the Bible. Do you blieve the Noah story?
Ianao,
I have the numbers. In 1973 they had a 3% increase, in '74 +14%, in '75 +9%, '76 +3%, in '77 & '78 they lost 1% and in '79 they had no growth. I think this clearly indicates that '75 did have an impact. The percent getting baptized is even more dramatic:
'73 +18%, '74 +55%!, '75 no change,
'76 35% fewer than the year before,
'77 38% lower than the year before,
'78 18% lower than the year before that
'79 +12% above an already lowered number.
Xandit,
I would call your grain of salt a disbelief. What other disbeliefs do you have, then and now?

Well it seems to me,
The Bible writers didn't do a very good job of proclaiming his name. They only mention it four times in the Old Testemant and not once in the new testement. Also, didn't the Jews believe that the name was so sacred that they shouldn't even pronounce it?
