  I am not putting you on. I have a copy of the divorce papers filed by Berta's husband that were sent to Bethel. I have met my aunt Berta when she visited the family in Akron, Ohio. Her two sisters were the one's that studied with my mother. My older cousin visited Berta at Beth Sarim after Rutherford died. This was after my cousin got out of the Army in World War Two. I was only 4 at the time. He told me about the visit years later.

  Mention of Mrs. Peel is found in the Olin Moyle trial transcripts which is published in its entirity. Olin Moyle was a JW attorney who left Bethel and sued the Society when they gave him a hard time.

  Berta was born in North Carolina, and can best be described as a beautiful Southern Belle. After leaving Beth Sarim, she pioneered in the San Diego area until she died. She said she was of the annointed, although her two sisters were not even though they came into the religion in the 1930's.

  A bit of history that you won't find in a JW history book.

  My mother's aunt, Berta Peel, divorced her husband to live at Bethel working as Rutherford's "nuitritionist" (is this a full time job?) She traveled with him to Beth Serim in the winters, and was at his side when he died. She lived at Beth Serim for several years after that until it was sold.

  The JW history book states that Ruthorford's wife lived in California instead of Bethel because of poor health. This may or may not be true, but she never lived at Beth Serim and Rutheford did not live with her when he was in California.

  You might be a JW if you really think that JW's are as pesky as "a plague of locusts."

  I think I have sinned. Part of my e-mail address is thor, which is part of my last name. It just dawned on me that THOR was a pagan God. Should I discuss this with the elders? Please help me, before I blow my brains out with my father's 45.

  when the rest of the congregation is reading other scriptures.

  You lust after an attractive female, no matter how she is dressed. (This may happen in other religions as well.)

  You want to become an elder some day so you can ask people exlicit questions about their sex lives.

  You would like to go out with a "wordly girl" so you could .. ah .. well.. mm.. bring her into the truth.

  You think about sex when you are at a boring meeting. (This is a characteristic of all bored young men, so don't cast asparagus, I mean don't cast aspersions on them for this fault.

  BEARDS AND DRESS (or stages of undress) It seems to me that people should dress sensibly, and that's a very general concept. When you get into tedious particulars it's like straining the gnat and swallowing the camel.

  I think some beards are very distinguished looking, like mine, and some are really scruffy looking. I keep mine neatly trimmed, because my wife insists on it, not because of any outside influence.

  Same with clothes. If you look "nice" by local community standards that should suffice. Skirt hem lengths go up and down...big deal. The WTBTS should lighten up. By the way, the elders have a nice job - checking out the legs, but then again someone has to do it.
  
  Joke: We all should be allowed to wear short sleeved shirts at work, because the U.S. Constitution gives us the right to "bear arms".
  Now on the matter of sex, I think this is no body's business except the two people "doing it". I question the motives of those who inquire. Are they voyuerists or spiritual guides?? If they want a "blow by blow" description, I wouldn't trust there motives. WAITING AND SEVEN, Thank you for welcoming a newcomer.

  By the way, the "doom and gloom' pamphlets go back to the '50's; it's exciting the firt time as a kid, but the second time around it looses it's impact as a motivator, e.g., been there done that.

  Instead of going to the elders or the WTBS CD read the books written before 1940 ... very enlightening especially as it relates to Bible prohecy.

  More info on the cross, same author different book than the one cited above: De Cruce Libri by Lipius shows 16 methods of Roman killing , 13 are crosses and three are stakes. Our old books show one of the stake types to prove the teaching, not mentioning the 13 crosses.

  Regarding 2014: They should have done something in 1979, when the religion was 100 years olld. That's a long time to wait with baited breath for the end of the world. By the way, there are no Bible scholars, except our own of course who believe that 607 B.C is the right date. That distruction happened about twenty years later. Perhaps the "new light" will be to move the date to 1934.
