  well for the second time in one week, i happened to bump into another member of my old congregation.

  (wondering what i have done to deserve this?).

  so we chat cautiously at first, then she mentions that an elderly gentleman in the same cong is very frail and needs someone to look after him.

  Let's not paint every JW with the same brush here. My brother and his wife took care of Mom, with some help from my wife and I, until the day she died and it was no easy chore. It seems to me the key here is that the woman wanted to pioneer and couldn't be bothered with her elderly father.

  When folks start spouting slogans instead of reason it is obviously because their stance/beliefs/politics are weak, at best. The oil in the middle east needs to be protected, but that is not the most compelling reason for war, the protection of the US is compelling. I was watching television when the world trade center buildings came down. It is a sight I do not wish to see repeated.

  This is true confession time, I must admit to being intrigued, not to mention educated about food currently served in Jolly Olde England. Actually, a recpie, as posted in Emans previous thread, sounds dilicious. So, if I should ever travel to the mother country, I will take a deep breath, hold my nose, and try spotted dick.

  This is a very well written post, probably one of the best we've seen on this forum. Hopefully you will let us know if or when you should receive an answer from your brother. However, I suspect he won't answer because you did such a fine job of boxing him into a corner. Thanks so much for taking the time to post this and keep your chin up.

  i tried a few of the free pic hosting sites, and had little success.

  i emailed these to comf and he had them on the web in about 15 minutes.

  they have all been digitally altered, to the point that the pyramid of giza is not even recognizable.
