  Association: Am i being lied to?

  i don't hesitate to bring up with the girl i study with, my criticisms of the religion, and one of those is the association.

  i keep reading on here that jw's don't make friends outside the cult, and this is what i used as an excuse for stepping further away from being baptized.

  she tells me it's not true, and they can have what ever friends they want.

  The use 1Cor. 3:2 in order to feed your mind with acceptable things and hide the restrictions from you. As an unbaptized publisher, they say you have all sorts of freedoms. After you become baptized, the start the requirements and the demands and the guilt-trips. Those are the meat, the truth of God, as they say. One of these "truths" is that you must have minimal contacts with your worldly friends. Go to dinner with one or more of them and you will become a close friend of the elders (evil grin).

  one of the many questions that i am asked is what are the current gb members like, who are the hardliners and who are more moderate.. because of my previous job, at a european bethel, i had dealings with most of them with the exception of sam herd.. these are my observations of my conversations with them and how others who had dealings with them.. other ex bethelites may have contrary views to mine, but i would be surprised.. i had spent a lot of time with splane, lett and morris.

  Losch is the intrigue-manipulator character. Sly and cruel. He is the God of the European branches. He is smart and speaks 4 languages (I think). Definitely hard-liner and old guard.

  long after blacks and jews have made great strides, and even as homosexuals gain respect, acceptance and new rights, there is still a group that lots of americans just dont like much: atheists.

  those who dont believe in god are widely considered to be immoral, wicked and angry.

  they were affectionately called christendom cars.

  you know, the 2 door coupes that the friends had to struggle to get in and out of the back seat, out in service.

  was it you, or did you do the spiritually respnosible thing and drive the 4 door sedan?.

  I had a 2 door vehicle and a 4 door vehicle. I used them both and no one complained. But I told them, jockingly (and grinning awkwardly), that those who have a problem with any of my cars can walk. And my mouth laughed so that they may understand it was a joke. But my eyes told the truth: I was serious.

  i've read a little about them and they do not believe in trinity, and have similar believes as jehovah's witnesses.. they also try to keep all ten commandments, in addition to that.. i did not research all their doctrines, but a lot of them look familiar to me.. what do you think?.

  My old congo has not had the Convention yet, but many JW I know have changed their security settings. They now share information only with friends.

  yup, that's right.. if we apply the principle from god's own law at deuteronomy 22:8, that is.. .

  "when you build a new house, you must build a railing around the edge of its flat roof.

  that way you will not be considered guilty of murder if someone falls from the roof.
