  Governing body member engaged... Again!

  just found out that the australian governong body member known as geoffrey jackson got engaged to a sister about two weeks ago.

  it really shocked me at first but then i remembered how other members of the gb have remarried in the past like daniel sidlik.

  what made me say "woah" was hearing that the holy bride to be is really young!

AND they are both in full time service. Jah didn't see the need his full time workers were in need of and alert the elders. Maybe he should have contacted a JC threesome to issue aid.

  Yes Slim -- Glen Howe. He had pretty much hero status because of the many cases he won for the society. But when he married an overly young chick (yes I know, overly young by whose standards) many I knew in the congos here were quite taken aback.

  @slimboyfat - I agree in principle with what you are saying. But this guy is at the top of the heap of setting the example of not being a stumbling block (or some such that the society spouts). I can tell you without reservation that this causes consternation in the "brotherhood" or "sisterhood" if you like. I can recall the definite ew factor when the high ranking canadian bethel lawyer (can't find his name right at the moment) chose to wed a much younger sister. As you point out, nothing wrong with it and more power to him. But these guys have published articles taking away the rights of the little guy if it might stumble somebody. Because of this I think that kind of union is at the very least ill advised. They are supposed to think first of the effect on others and then consider their own feelings.

  It all seems wierd to me. At that age and with those responsibilities why marry. If choosing to do so why such a young bride. Soon he will be celibate, why not practice now? A number of these men are mentioned in this thread as doing the younger bride and another could be added. The guy who was the head lawyer in Canada did the same. Is this a trend? Would you see a watchtower article if it became a trend in the "rank and file" as they say. I'm sure there would be. Anyway, just my thoughts as if anyone cares. But I truly agree with DaCheech.

  I don't think anyone is castigating Serena as such. It is just that these ones emphasize the societies hypocrysy and stupidity.

  mindseye touched on the web site comment. So if as the speaker says: There is only one official internet website wherein one can find all the information they need to know about Jehovah's Witnesses including the abundance of downloadable publications, and that is jw.org. - does that mean that www.watchtower.org and www.jw-media.org are apostates or something. It shows that they can't even keep up with their own changes. When that talk was made up it would seem, they thought that by the time it was delivered jw.org would be as the talk says, the one official website. But since they can't, even with the "free labor" and jah's backing, keep to a schedule (remember they said that jw.org would be the sole web presence by JUNE) they look like bunkins once again.

  in flyinghighnow's wildflower page, she asked how an image could be added to another photo, and i thought to reply in a new thread.. i have noticed there are plenty of experienced photoshop users on this board who would likely have many tips to share with other users.. feel free to ask questions, or provide answers here.

  my experience is limited, but i will help where i can, and i hope to learn from others.. there are many capable programs other than photoshop, so feel free to post about any of them you are familiar with.. there is often an easier way to do something, so any shortcuts are welcome!.
