WORLDS APART~TEEN JW MOVIETONIGHT ON SUNDANCE @ 7 EST.

i was just flipping through the channels to find something for the woman i care for to watch, and i came across a movie tonight on the sundance channel called, "worlds apart".

it is about a jehovah's witness teen who falls in love with someone who is not.. although i can't watch it now, i am taping it.

i couldn't look to see if it is a documentary of sorts, but i bet it will be interesting to say the least.. it's on at 7 pm tonight, eastern.

I tried to see it on You Tube...kept getting the Spanish Sub titles. It wasn't shown on the Canadian Sundance Channel

omg, one of my friends who hasn't removed me from her list eventhough i shoot down all the jw propaganda she sends me, sent me an email about phil donahue visiting a kingdom hall, with pics and all.. they claim he said that jw have done more for human rights during ww2 then any other group in america.. is this true?

has anyone else heard about this?.

i want to send phil the letter where the jw's wrote to hilter to tell them they don't like the jews either.. .

This is interesting about Donahue...I had no idea about his interest in JW's. No doubt he doesn't know the whole story about JW's.

I remember his shows in the 70's. People really were scared to express their minds in those days...eventually we exploded in acquiring knowledge about rights.

What exactly are men at the back of the hall taking care of?

once people have come in, and the doorman and the mic men are in place, why are there a few other suits scattered about at the back?

i saw a guy get up, sit down, get up, sit down, get up and when i looked what he was up to he was reading the noticeboard and looking around, waiting for a bus.

i figured he wasn't doing much at that point, but anything to not stay seated.

At our KH, the retired/deleted Elders sit at the back and serve as Attendants. They are supposed to do various things, but most of all they are supposed to attend to the emergencies..i.e. Fire Alarms, threats, violence. We used to have two elderly men that did this ,and one used a walker. That was a joke.

we received an email from an old friend who is still an elder and doesn't know what we are up to.

"a change, they are no longer training missionaries and sending them into foreign fields.

It could be a way to downsize those who have been at Bethel for many years.

They could be trying to sell them on a Gilead training degree (wow the sky is the limit). Now that's higher education

Imagine the congregations to be blessed with such learned ones.

The legal system is a long drawn out process. One that certainly requires patience.

I think that it's great that the legal schem will be fully exposed in this exercise.

It will be interesting to see how the Society tries to spin this one.

Was being a Ministerial Servant a Prerequisite for Marriage

i'm asking this because when i was in ( disfellowshipped in 2009 ) some "sisters" wouldn't even look at you unless you had the title ministerial servant or worse elder.

i notice this when i was in because one of my friends thinks that by becoming a ms he could get the better looking witness girls.

tell me your stories of this..

I wasn't a MS, but a starving poor pioneer. Poorer than a church mouse, or is that quieter than a church mouse?

I did run the other way when sisters came after me, though. Finally, someone caught me. She didn't care about if I was a MS.

I have heard though lately that they are promoting the MS candidates. Now that they could serve as young as 20 yrs old. But, don't be fooled by the label, or title. If your match is looking for a position, then you better beware. What's gonna happen if later on you can't do the 10 hrs per month, and you have to buckle down and support your family? Is she gonna be there for you?

Never mind about the sisters setting standards. You should also set standards.

well, well....i know that you have your turkeys, and your pumpkin, or pecan pies, and i know that you had your family over and all.. but, you really aren't celebrating thanksgiving, are you?.
