'Separate the wheat from the chaff' in 2011
by Gorbatchov inthe april 2011 pioneer action of 30 hours is a kind of 'separate the wheat from the chaff'.. think about it: 40 percent of our congregation is pioneering.
the other half of the congregation has something to explain.... i don't report hours for years.
although i'm not "too sensitive" it feels like "standing fully outside the group".

great idea for a thread.. I know djegghead has a few pages worth of quotable quotes, mostly centered around his own arrogance.. time to dig!

saw bits and pieces of the interview.. I did notice him rocking back and forth in his chair.. could've been just nervous, but I doubt it - probably some mental problems going on there...

An exodus from faith. Deconversion from Christianity and ones eventual progression into atheism. Highly recommended!!
by whereami in"who doesn't like a good de-conversion story?
i'm sure we have all read or heard of many, but rarely have i found any as eloquent, comprehensive and deeply descriptive as this one by an ex-christian on youtube, by the name of taylorx04.. the full video series is over an hour long and covers a great many of the standard arguments used both by atheists and apologists, describing in detail the exact mental gymnastics involved in changing one's mind on a matter of faith".. .

Has anyone left still believing it was the truth?
by FollowedMyHeart init seems that most xjws have left because at one point in their jw life something happened that made them start to think something wasn't right with the religion.
when i left, i still believed the jws had "the truth".
i was dying inside, trapped and unhappy (another poster's words, but describes exactly how i felt).

My mind sort of "broke" during my exit, but not in the literal nervous-breakdown sense of the word.. I geniunely did not want to live forever, and still don't want to. I think 60 or 70 years of life will be enough for me. My friend looked at me as if I was crazy when I mentioned that to him. See, one of the tricks used is to make you think you're crazy if you don't want the same salvation as them. I had to begin looking at each doctrine individually, as if one thing is wrong, it is no longer the composite "truth." Only then did I realize how many things were wrong.

DoC : that's a great point, and why companies like Toyota love opening up plants north of the border, due mostly to the paid health care coverage in Canada. I'm sure if they could lay off a bunch of Brooklyn boys, they could save some serious cash over the long hall.

April WT: 6 prophesies you are seeing fulfilled - earthquakes...
by NVR2L8 innew light?
the article states that jesus never said there would be an increase in earthquakes, but that they would be "great" earthquakes in one place after the other...like we have seen lately.
this is quite a change with the wts' obsession of trying to prove that since 1914 there has been a significant increase in the number of occurances, comparing fictious numbers from the time of jc until 1914 and from 1914 until today!

cameo-d : are you really saying that because men have "plundered" (I'm not even sure what that means), they are directly causing the earthquakes? And it's not because of tectonic plates shifting, which is the way God designed the earth?? Please go on, I'm listening.

Lead Books: Lose Cross, Run With Yahweh?
by metatron inif these lead books prove to be genuine, they may present the 'bernie madoff' governing body of jehovah's witnesses with a dilemma:.
should they highlight them because they may mention 'yahweh' in a christian context or reject them because jesus didn't die on a stake?.
if they are smart ( and who knows, given their ignorant, biased frame of mind), they might run with the 'yahweh' stuff.

I'm going with the selective quoting, as well. Then, 5 years down the road, when some JW has read actual information about the documents, they'll do a quick QFR about the cross portion. By then, virtually all JW's will have forgotten about the whole issue.
