Adam was by himself for 35 1/2 years and counting....
by dozy inaccording to jw bible chronology , adam was created some 6000 years before 1975 & as armageddon hasn't arrived yet , he has been alone for all the equivalent years since then (despite the wtbts claiming that adam was only on his own for just a few weeks or months.).
luckily as a perfect man , he had no sexual desires.... .
adam felt no desires of sex.

I'm sure Adam must've had his 'tube steak,' else how would he have urinated? unless, he was SO perfect, he didn't need to... cue RCC and "everybody poops" family guy jokes..

OTWO - very true, all around. I know it's difficult to "move on," especially when you have family members still in and are still on speaking terms with them. I still catch myself using JW terminology ("worldly" etc), but those phrases still have meaning for those still in, and sometimes it's the only way to speak to them...

Have people who still post here really 'moved on'? It seems the only signal that you have moved on would be when you stop posting and move past the JW aspect of your life.. Obviously, I haven't moved on yet :)

The real story about the tea party movement
by lifeisgood ini started this thread because some people are telling lies in another thread about the tea party.. i am one of the volunteers that helps arrange and put on tea party rallies in southern mississippi.
we do not have a membership roll.. we are not a political party.. we have one basic issue that we are addressing, which is: we want federal spending to be lower than federal revenues.
we do not say how this is to be achieved.. some liars on this site are claiming that the tea parties are actively pushing to achieve the balanced budget by cutting only liberal policies.

"Some liars on this site are claiming that the tea parties are actively pushing to achieve the balanced budget by cutting only liberal policies. I'm not sure what this means exactly, but this is an out and out lie."
If you don't know what this means, how do you know that it is a lie?

by James_Slash insorry guys, i can't link the full article (as i don't know how) but this is the address.. http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1g1-111236724.html.
this is the news article (only in part as it is now archived) but this guy i know personally and he was made up to an elder a couple of years ago:.
a birmingham technician who went bankrupt after losing almost pounds 100,000 on rash speculations on the stock market has been ordered to do 200 hours' community punishment.

Mr. Falcon: sad, but true, that these things happen.. I am personally aware of at least one scheme run by a well-heeled, well-connected "brother," where everyone involved pretty much lost their shirts, and yet, he's still as well-connected as ever...

Online Grocery shopping...does anyone do this?
by Joliette inthe peapod logo keeps coming up on my screen.
i clicked on it out of curiousity, and i was wondering if anyone has actually order online groceries?.
-

It would seem most of you posters are from the UK, where online grocery shopping seems to have hit its' stride. In the US and Canada (from my research), it seems not quite ready for prime time, if at all. There are a few local delivery services (in the US), but nothing national.. Webvan was the earliest attempt, and that utterly cratered in the dotcom boom..

Jehovah's Witnesses: not even wrong?
by slimboyfat inin school we had a goofy teacher who used to make fun of some of the wrong answers we would give.
if they were really bad his ultimate put down would be to say that our answer was "not even wrong".
little did i know at the time this is actually a technical term coined by a theoretical physicist for a statement that is not susceptible to falsification, we just took it to mean that our answer was very wrong indeed.. the more i move away from the jw mindset the more i find myself disagreeing, not only with the answers jws give on various issues, but the questions themselves that frame the debate.

the very basic idea of calling the religion the "truth" is telling... very 1984-esque..
