Is this really such a scandal? I finally got around to watching the video. When I was active there were never any restrictions on alcohol consumption, except for excessive drinking or drunkenness.
Seems like a reasonable decision to go to NJ to buy the scotch since it costs less, taxes aren’t quite as high, gas is cheaper, and NY liquor stores don’t open until noon on Sundays. Makes sense to me that he might just take a trip and buy a shirt ton of it to last for the next year or two.

He's a political activist and has been campaigning with Kamala Haris. I suspect the stunt was done as part of someone's campaign - the Dems are losing the black vote (Trump is lowering unemployment and raising wages). What better than a Trump MAGA inspired white supremacist anti-black hate crime to get them back inline and singing from the Democrat hymn sheet?
It did seem odd that Kamala was co-sponsoring an anti-lynching bill with Cory Booker (aka Spartacus), a crime that hasn’t been an issue in decades, right at the time this lynching/noose incident popped up...
