There are complicated rituals the couple goes through in order to transition from "dating" to "courting". The transition is called "kerbuckle" formally, and it can sometimes be used as a verb. To 'kerbuckle' requires the father of the female and potential male mate to shave their arm pits together while singing "My heart will go on" by Dion. The females gather around the males during this time and yodel loudly. When the hair has been shaved and a harmony is struck between the singing and yodeling, all parties yell 'KERBUCKLE!' and run away from each other as fast as possible in every direction. A few days later when they see each other again, the courtship will have officially started.

@Simon: It's amazing. My position has always been that there should be armed individuals, preferably conceal carry, some in uniform, some not.
But if the security isn't ready to make the hard choice and shoot the shooter in the face, then what good are they?

Are You Concerned About Inflation?
by Simon ini saw a statistic the other day that something like 25% of all the debt that the us has incurred since 1776 was created in the last 12 months.
that's because they have printed so much currency and instead of letting that stop them, they are going to continue printing more to go on a spending spree on crazy green-new-deal schemes and union handouts.. does anyone think that this can be anything other than inflationary?
they are effectively stealing the wealth of everyone to then hand money out to people.

Roe vs Wade Overturned by US Supreme Court!
by Simon ini know there was a leak a few weeks back, but this really does seem to have come out of the blue.. the anomaly was the original decision.
it clearly had no basis in law or the constitution, and was a flimsy, ridiculous ruling.
plus the whole thing was based on a fraudulent case in the first place.. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-61928898.

Would Harris make a distinction between "killing" and "dying"?

By my quoting the writing of Sam Harris, what I was trying to point out is that, maybe, just maybe a miscarriage is nature's way of ending...terminating...aborting...a pregnancy? Could be, could be.
I honesty don't understand this argument. Given the above, can you put a conclusion on it? Therefore........ what?

Holly shit , it’s like my disfellowshipping hearing in here.
Leaving the WT doesn't imply leaving all standards behind.
“ better lifestyle choices, consequences , held accountable “. People ( besides you dorks ) get laid. It happens. Get over it. It’s none of your damn business.
But to your broader point: Go get laid. Go fork a bunch of girls, or get forked. I really don't care. But the debate around abortion is not about control. Perhaps you would like to think its about control. It really isn't. I don't care if you go pork three women, two men, five goats, and a horse all at the same time. I may care about the animals - they didn't consent. But as a way of illustrating my point, I don't forking care.
Go get drunk and laid all you want. Your body, your choice. But your liberty to swing your fist ends just where my nose begins, and once there is someone else's body in the mix, it's not strictly your choice anymore. -

A fair amount of the insight we may mistakingly atteibute to intelligence, is probably actually due to seeing real life consequences for actions.
That's why I was so amused by the #SexStrike movement. Basically, "Oh yeah?! Well if you aren't going to give me an easy way out, I'll just have to behave sensibly! I'm deleting all my hookup apps right now! How do like that, men?!"

Some drunken mistakes have consequences. Like if you get drunk, drive, and kill someone. I guess the idea that such people should be held accountable is unacceptable? I mean it's just a drunken mistake. It shouldn't ruin their life, right?
Some "mistakes" are big mistakes. We would rather not have people make those horrible mistakes. So, society has constructed norms, over time, to minimize people making these mistakes - like don't get drunk and drive because the penalties are very high. Also, don't get drunk and fuck around - same reason.
But if you do get drunk, get a designated driver, or take an uber/ taxi, then that's a workable solution too. Likewise, if you insist on fucking around, get birth control or the morning after pill (also a workable solution).

I am in favor of all WT IT projects! Very good job. This is close to the ngram project I wanted to do.
Very nice, great success!
One thing that worries me is if you really have the full WT source material on the public repo, the WT may be able to take the entire thing down.
