Do You Support Trump Being Impeached Again?
by minimus init looks like it can happen again and i suspect if it does happen, the senate will not convict either because they can’t convict him since it’s after his presidency or simply because they don’t have sufficient votes..

Who knows what those computers show?
Oh God.. Why do I get the feeling we are about to be exposed to more pics of Anthony Weiner?
I mean, now that I think about it, why wouldn’t he send pics to Pelosi too?!

Trump never called for violence. If you think he did, you have been played by the media and social media companies. They took down the videos of him calling for peaceful protest and then claimed he was calling for violence and then do the same for anyone who points it out.
Turns out that the speech he was giving wasn't even over yet. The QAnon group, mixed with some other leftist types (has been confirmed now), breached the capital building before the bulk of the Trump supporters arrived. Trump said explicitly he wanted his group to peacefully (using that word exactly) move to the capital so that those inside could hear the crowd sing.
I've been learning more about QAnon lately. I swear, I don't think even a fraction of Trump supporters even care about this group. This is nuts. I am getting the overwhelming impression that QAnon is to Trump as Scientology is to science.

Should Difference of Opinion Be Squelched On Sites Such As FB or Twitter?
by minimus ini think that for the most part, dissenting views should be allowed to exist because of free speech principles.
one person may strongly feel that something is true while someone else may present “facts” that support the opposing view.
when that is the case, healthy discussion is mostly productive.

The left and right now have less in common than the north and south. It’s time for a peaceful divorce.

Why Do Some People Wear A Mask While Driving Alone In Their Car?
by minimus incan anyone explain this to me??
?.
-
MeanMrMustard
Hell, I get out of the car 50% of the time, not realizing I’m massless, and head right for the store entrance. The other night I went to Target at about 9:30 PM, and completely forgot to put on the mask. Walked right into the store and got all the way to far back corner. Nobody stopped me. I only realized it on my way back to the registers.

@millie210
The table you presented is good evidence of what Simon was talking about. This virus has been politicized so much, we can’t be sure. Nursing home scandals, rewards for covid patients, improper categorization of deaths - it’s hard to tell. But overall deaths, that tells a huge story.

QUITTING QUIETLY here is the Canadian version of the document
by gone for good ina while back, i suggested that an easy, quick, quiet exit with the signing and dating of a concise and irrefutable document would spur faders and pimos to preempt the elders' interference by quitting quietly first , before a fade or a confrontation.
here is the document .

Thank you for realizing we have achieved our single most important intention- YOU ARE FREE.
- Don’t be dishonest - your most important intent is not to get shunned. If it were to be free, you can do that by just fading, or better yet, one phone call.
- I am not just “realizing” anything here. I’ve understood you from the start. Many others have too. You don’t seem to want to consider the possibility that you are being illogical.
Using just our own pen and a public download - FREEDOM instantly, legally and peacefully.
I can do the same thing with a phone call. Or nothing at all. Nothing special here.
Why on earth would someone who is not one of Jehovahs Witnesses tell 3 elders anything? They are not your elders - not your church. NEVER SPEAK TO THESE A-HOLES AGAIN
Oh but wait.. YOU said that you would give them YOUR letter when you suddenly appeared on their radar. Stop dodging.
Who gives a rats ass about shunning or stupid obsessive record keepers- we've kicked them to the curb..
You do. If you didn’t care about shunning you would advise people to just call the elders and disassociate.

@gone for good:
The 'quiet' (unrealistic part) was intended so that liberated people could continue fading, visiting with family... until elders make trouble.
This is possible without a secret letter. Many people do this every day. Then, it's time to declare emancipation and it's also too late for elders ecclesiastic actions.
No, it is not. You are completely mistaken here. They can still remove you from their membership roles, per your wishes, and make an announcement informing members of your choice.
JWs cannot DF or DA non-members.
JWs can never DA anyone, members or non-members. Only you, the individual, can disassociate.
You are (after signing)) a non-member. (religious practice is VOLUNTARY)
So? Nobody else knows. If you happen to let them know a year after signing, then they know and will adjust their records (something they can do, as it’s not an ecclesiastical activity, just records keeping). The document is NOT a disassociation letter, it mentions no church, doesn't infringe on any churches' rights nor their ability to discipline their own members. If they self-identify with any of the repudiated hateful actions mentioned as examples, that's on them.
You are claiming the letter makes you a non-member, correct? That is the basis for the elders not having any authority over you, correct? You - yourself - by signing the letter are declaring yourself a non-member. So, if you hand this declaration to any elder (whether they are being pesky or not), you are informing them of your choice to be a non-member. This is a textbook definition of disassociation. This is precisely a DA letter. Our action was taken legally, peacefully and with the hope of broad-reaching benefits to society.
When you leave the JWs, there is a benefit. When you believe you have some magic bullet to stop shunning, it creates false hope and that is not an improvement.
No reprisal can come to a person exercising their constitutional rights.
Right. So you exercise yours. They exercise theirs. Result - you are free, and you are shunned.Let’s try to short-circuit this a bit. Forget the debate over the letter for a moment. If I were a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and I call several elders tonight (get them all on a conference call) and say: “Hello everyone, I, MeanMrMustard, am not a member of JWs any longer. As of this moment, with all of you witnessing, I have left the organization.” Do you, @gone for good, think that the elders have a right to remove me from their roles and make an announcement about my choice?
