If they want to save a lot of money they should not have physical conventions. Just broadcast the convention at jw.org- and have the new releases sent to the congs the beginning of June.
Then everyone can watch the program from home (or at the kh if they don't have the internet) and they can save on traveling expenses etc and the society won't have to rent and clean the facilities.
The new publications can be made available at the kh beginning in early June or late May.
And hopefully I could still obtain copies without going to the meetings.

I hope everyone orders printed copies. Of course the gb hopes to reduce the number printed so they can save that money for their own purposes but I want to be able to get copies and I am not attending the convention.
A sister has been kind enough to get copies for me each year. I hope she will still be able to or I'll have to wait until the end of the year. Since I don't attend meetings I'll have to see if the sister can get copies then and send them to me.

Watchtower in local newspaper

if you have time to read, this is an interesting article talking about watchtowers property in ulster and orange county ny and how much the properties are worth.
it also goes on to show how the tax exempt stays is hurting the communities..

It does not say how much the properties are worth but does mention school and other taxes Watchtower Farms voluntarily pays.

Wallkill and Farm receive Green Globe Awards

a statement by the watchtower society released this week, is highlighting the achievement of two major awards for sustainable development actions.. the green building initiative (gbi) has awarded certificates for two new buildings at the united states branch facilities.
the awards are achievements for the watchtower farms f residence, completed in late 2012, and the watchtower wallkill office building, completed in 2014.. ....................these awards may indicate that sustainable management techniques are being applied to ensure the cost effectiveness of the buildings.

What did you become after leaving Jehovah's Witnesses?

so, since my leaving i have been doing so much research on so many topics that it's been extremely enlightening.
not only have i learned a lot about the organization and what motivates it, but i have also learned a lot about the bible, god and most importantly, myself.. currently, i'm not quite sure where i stand, but i'm having some real issues with the bible and god.

After discovering the tatt I lost all faith and hope and lost interest in the bible.
I don't really believe in anything now, but I don't want a religion.But I feel like I lost my identity.

6 branches subsidize the rest of the branches.
by hoser ini went to the meeting this morning and we had some guy from overseas bethel give the public talk.
6 countries subsidize the rest.
he said in some countries all the donations that they get from contributions don't even pay the electricity bill for the branch buildings so money has to come in from these 6 richer countries.

That makes sense about their being busy with the new bible as they had to run triple shifts to get them done in time for the agm.
The God's Kingdom Rules! book is being printed in Wallkill now so they must have worked out the problems of getting the cover the right shade of purple although I am surprised the Wallkill printery would have trouble with that.
If there is a new book released at the convention this summer it should be printed at Wallkill then (The US edition).

The Largest BOE File Ever Compiled!

it has been downloaded at least 30 times with no virus issues.
the file is from 1905 to 2015 updated, and includes all the elder manuals from 1961 to 2010 at the bottom of the bookmarks.

by ctrwtf ini think i've mentioned before that from time to time my commute on the bqe takes me past the old factory buildings and the soon to be former headquarters building.
i was struck the other day with how shabby they've become.
even 25 columbia heights, still currently occupied, its facade is filthy.

I was able to defend my beliefs from the bible when I used to go door to door back in the 70's/and 80's.
I agree that now the current witnesses cannot defend their beliefs nor explain them if they even believe them.
With the overlapping generation crap which has no scriptural support the current witnesses will never be able to explain or defend it.
Yes, the quality of jws is much lower than when we were active witnesses.
And the new gb2.0 are nothing like the original gb.
It is a different religion now than it was when we were witnesses and no doubt will continue to change. The articles in the mags are way too simplified.
I agree, the witnesses, as we knew them are over.
