true they ate,they died,but on the other hand if they never ate from it,they could(would ) of died anyways.. let me illustrate:on a store shelf there are many products.one of them has a label"poison" if eaten you will surely die.if a person consumes the poison he is one dead sob no question.on the other hand if he doesn't eat the poison he will eventually die anyways..

why Jehovah's witnesses? not yaweh witnesses?

this i never understood, the publications say that gods name translated from hebrew is yaweh.

why add a whole bunch of letters and vowels that change the sound of the name completely?

i've often thought surely we would gain greater respect on the ministry if we used a name that is historically and verbally accurate?.

"Before and After" JW Cult Education Pamplets I wish to Make!

i have three stories i would like to tell through a quick message showing the effects of the watchtower, "before i became a jw" and "after i became a jw".

the first would be the real life story of a successful jw business woman who was on track to become ceo of a major s&p 500 company until two jw elderly witnesses weasled their way in to her life.

the second is the happy family everyone loves and all the lives they touch until the cult turns them in to drones.

If there were no shunning ...

a lot of members of this forum are still notionally active jws, in many cases because of worries about the loss of contact with family and friends if they were to leave.

i was never in so it's hard for me to judge, but it seems to me that if the watchtower org were to announce tomorrow that shunning is wrong and jws should keep contact with family and friends who leave then the effect would be devasting for congregation numbers.

if so then obviously such an announcement is highly unlikely, but is my view correct?

i'm off work today and its a monday morning.

a male and female jw just knocked on my door, i opened it, the guy just handed me their latest website promoting tract saying "hi, were just leaving these with people today", and then he made to leave.

i looked at the tract and then looked at him as he was turning to walk away and said to him "ok, thanks, but ummm you could've just left it in my letterbox.".

Advice about going to Meetings...................oh why didn't I listen...LOL!!!!!

i have been back to meetings for a month now.

prepared for them all except for when i went on holiday.. todays wt is about jehovah's organisation, it's clear loaded language and manipulation through fear.

i am not perturbed by it in the least.
