Ladies - Have you ever thought about shaving your head - all off?
by Lady Lee ini've thought about it.
when i first moved to ottawa i knew a woman who had shaved all her hair off and had tattoos all over her head - bizarre but interesting.. a few actresses have done it and they look fabulous although not all do and i doubt most men would love it.. for you fellows that shave bald - why do ou like it.
avi had an awesome avatar of him shaved bald -- so sexy looking.

Ladies: I admit I'm kind of an old fashioned guy when it come to the subject of ladies hair. Perhaps it's my quasi-european upbringing? I DO like to see it long. (If it's at least long enough to cover a woman's bewbs it's just about perfect! Dunno why I think so.) As I've said in the men's thread, not even I would do it. (I'm not even close to going bald.)
To me there's also a more emotional component to it... That throughout the ages a woman's hair has been regarded as her pride and joy. If it was shaved off it would be an utter public humiliation and emotional trauma and has been used to that effect. If you see enough movies about previous ages, seeing women's heads shaved in a brutal fashion does have that kind of emotional impact. (Please spare me the arguement about this being a modern age...) Even today, many women will be in tears if they loose their hair for whatever reason. Can it not also be said that hair loss is associated with ILLNESS? Cancer, Alopecia, Trichotillomania, you name it. A lot of emotional pain and trauma associated with those for sure. It just freaks me out.
My humble $0.02

I got to thinking about this today.
by MrFreeze ini was taking a long, long car ride today and of course all that time you get to thinking.
i thought about this.
when it comes to jw's dating, they always have to have a chaperone there.

The couple really doesn't even have a chance to really get to know one another. And you certainly can't talk about your individual hopes and goals because the WTBTS tells you what those are.
Wow, Scarred for life. That really gets to the crux of it. How can a marriage succeed if the young couple can't get to know each other, or be able to figure out their own hope and dreams? It's little wonder that most JW youngster's marriages quickly turn into an unbearable grind.

I've only thought about the possibility of it IF I ever started balding,
but since I'm pushing 40 and I still have a full, thick head of hair... NAH!V665

by goman ini've been lurkin for a while and i've been reading and replying some posts.. i'm catholic and my wife is a j.w.

I bid you welcome goman.
No need to just lurk. There's a lot to talk about here for sure. My mom is a believer and my dad isn't. I'm still surprised that they manage to stay together and get along as well as they do. In a twisted way they are an inspiration to me. If I could find a partner whom I can stick with like that...
Hang in there. You'll always find someone to hear you out if you need it. Just be careful not to push the buttons too much. If you keep reading you'll figure it out.V665

What's the best cover version of a song you've ever heard?
by VampireDCLXV inthe title pretty much says it all.. it's true that there are many classics that simply can't be topped but it doesn't stop people from trying anyway.
and what do ya know; occasionally someone does succeed.

I heard a rumor, is it true?
by palmtree67 inwas away all day yesterday and today.. heard alice got banned.. is it true?.
what happened?.
.

What was the vanished thread called? As baked as you got, plaugeis, it's unfortunate that Alice was not merely a nightmare. 'Go ask Alice (when she's ten feet tall)', if you dare. Funny about the thread just dissappearing...
An exstential question: Are any of us really here? Or are we just random arrangements of sub-atomic particles?

Glow in the Dark
by xelder in"glow in the dark".
that is the term our family used for the super righteous jw's.
as in, "that guy glows in the dark".
-

As I am vampire, I dwell in the darkness. I never "glowed" like that and the self-righteos types who did made me ill.
As it says in Matt 6:22-23: "The lamp of the body is the eye. If, then, your eye is simple, your whole body will be bright; but if your eye is wicked, your whole body will be dark. If in reality the light that is in you is darkness, how great that darkness is!"
Oh how dark they truly are!V665
