  Not invited to my nephews wedding

  knew that this would be the case - so not surprised.

  quite happy to not go - as i would not like to see my mother / or my big sister at all.

  this nephew is my small sisters son - my small sister and myself are very close - she does not go to the meetings anymore for quite a while now, her eyes have been opened.

  @ steve 2. all part of the religious hatred called shunning. i got hardened to it many years ago.

  my daughter--43 this month--lives 3 miles from me--i can see her place from mine. she has 4 daughters of her own. oldest is 17. ive never met them.

  i wasnt invited to any of my kids weddings---i only found out after the events.

  but my older son's 1st --jw--marriage failed. he was d/f'd---and married his lady last year--this time i was invited---a weekend long bash that was. however--his jw mum wasnt there---or his siblings. i cant begin to imagine what his brides family and friends made of that.

  i think wembley 69 was the last big arse-embly i ever attended. i was married then--and forced by my born in zealotess to actually show some semblence of listening. it never stopped raining. all i remember is that superdub ron drage bellowing into megaphone to try to keep some order in the underground passageways. probably the worst few days of my life. i vowed never to go again.

  i had great times as a teenager in it---loads of post circuit assembly parties---or better still if mum and dad dub went on holiday and left teenage offspring home alone---but not for long lol.

  assemblies were just for talent spotting. none of us lads listened to one word in the sessions.

  Why don't Jehovah's Witnesses introduce themselves when knocking on doors?

  most random people who knock on the door politely introduce themselves when you open the door.. for example "hello, i'm derick from unicef and i'm looking for donations blah blah blah".

  now annoying as it may be for some at least he had the courtesy to introduce himself.. why don't jw's do this?

  is it because they are embarressed or perhaps they know you won't take their literature if they do?.
