AWWW! What an adorable little guy.Look at all that hair! I loooove the little feet picture:)
Congratulations on your first grandchild! I was the same age as you when my grandson was born last year. People tell me "Your too young to be a grandma," but I just love it!I have to be a long distance grandma now, but we try to visit often, and I talk to him on the phone (he "talks" back now, and tries to take the phone away from his mom, lol).
We are planning his first birthday party this month. I can't believe how fast this year went by.
Enjoy your little guy!

LOL!
My grandfather is 95. He just took up weightlifting last year. He used to walk several miles a day, but my grandmother put a stop to that. She has severe arthritis, and can't walk that far to check up on him if he doesn't make it back home,so now he has to stay within a block of their apartment.Boy, does he complain about that;) -

Gently Feral,
Have you seen "Marvin's Room"? It's got Leonardo Di Caprio, Meryl Streep, and others in it. It's pretty good.
I loved "What's Eating Gilbert Grape." More for Johnny Depp, though, when I watched it;)Considering how young he was, Leo did very well in his role, though.
Leonardo Di Caprio is a pretty good actor. I didn't much like Romeo and Juliet (maybe because my son is a Shakespeare nut and I've had to watch it more times than I can count), but Leo is very good with the Shakespearean stuff.I'd like to see him in more roles along that lines. -

Hi Wasasister,
I like Being John Malkovich also-bought it, in fact.
Other "embarassing" loves:
Sleepy Hollow (it's funny, and has Johnny Depp in it)
Edward Scissorhands
Tomb Raider (liked the first one, not the second)
I love the oldies, too. I haven't seen Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, though. I love the old Godzilla series, The Blob, and the one about giant ants taking over the world (can't remember what its called)
Then there are the 70s films-does anyone remember SSSSS, Frogs, Killer Bees? -

Do you think God would mind if you called him an @sshole??
by frankiespeakin innow i don't know if there is a "god",,but if there was one,, would he get mad like the jehovah in the bible if you slighted him in some way??.
i know many people are afraid to call down evil on jehovah or jesus,,they feel god might hurt them in some way if they take up his name in a less than respectful way.
i personal would not be inclind to view "god" to be like that at all.. if this god made everything in existance he must have intelligence that is vastly greater than ours,,he certainly wouldn't have the same emotions as us,,like fear,,anxiety,etc...they would only get in the way of good clear judgements,,and screw thing up for him just like they do to us sometimes.. to think that this 'god" would get angry at us for blaming him for something and calling him names is rediculous,,example: would you get mad at an earthworm because it didn't like you,,or because he swore at you when you stepped on his nieghborhood ant hill??

"Illustration given at a circuit assembly in Michigan:"
What a simplistic little morality tale, written at a second grade comprehension level (so much for Bible education being at the college level, lol)! I've been doing a lot of study on cults and high control religion, in which quotes from the WTS are given. The comprehension level of the material is glaringly obvious now. It amazes that I ever believed this crap!
While I can't say I've ever cursed God, I did have a few long, heartfelt talks about the absence of his help in my life which sometimes evolved into yelling in frustration, lol, and a few heartfelt prayers in which I asked him to save me from his people.
He didn't answer. Imagine that.
At any rate, I've always felt like the poster who thinks that God would view things as a parent with a child who yells "I hate you." Having had my children yell that at me numerous times, I understand the analogy very well;) -

When is it ok to have sex?
by Obviously Secret ini always get different answers when i ask this question, or i get answers that contradict with the people givin the answer.
i ask this to various forums online and they all end up saying, when your ready and you know the conciquences.
however, that obviously doesn't work much or isn't the truth when so many little kids are getting pregnant and aids are everywhere and everything else.. so seriously.

When you are mature enough to consider the social and emotional ramifications for both of you, responsible and respectful enough to use protection EVERY SINGLE TIME, and when you are mature enough to handle the consequences if your method of protection fails.
Methods can and do fail, even with consistent use. Not everyone with an unplanned pregnancy or std were being irresponsible. -

Vampmonk-Welcome to the board. I'm glad to see that you are taking time to research this.
As someone who was married by the time I was your age, I ask you to please be very, very careful regarding nurturing your relationship with this young lady even further. I am not going to tell you that you are too young to fall in love (that would be pretty hypocritical of me, lol). I AM going to tell you that people change as they grow older, and sometimes these changes can be so significant, the relationship ultimately comes to an end. Also, a relationship always requires some sort of compromise by one or the other of you, if it is to last, and compromise can result in sacrifices-many of which you may look back on with sincere regret when you are older and time is no longer on your side.
Add to that, the fact that your friend is involved in a very high control religious group that legislates nearly every activity of its adherents, including family relationships (this is not in any way meant to be a criticism of her-I was a Jehovah's Witness for nearly twenty years myself).
Please, do more research on Jehovah's Witnesses, and on the characteristics of high control religious groups. Please read the experiences of those of us who have been intimately involved with this organisation. Research the history of this organisation. Look up its policy for divulging information ("theocratic warfare") to nonmembers (known as "worldly people" in their vernacular).Read up on what happens to Jehovah's Witnesses who question the policies of their leaders, or who simply wish to study the Bible on their own, without the organisation's various books and periodicals to guide them. Find out what the organisation's views on independent thinking are. Learn all you can about shunning.
Read 1984,Animal Farm, and The Scarlet Letter. Learn what double speak and black and white thinking are. Watch the movies "Pleasantville," "The Matrix," and "Truman Show".
You could also ask your friend to show you from the Watchtower publications what the society thinks about Witnesses marrying unbelievers, and associating with unbelievers who have no interest in becoming Jehovah's Witnesses. Ask her to show you what they say will happen to unbelievers at Armageddon.Ask her what she will do if a problem arises in your relationship-how will she arrive at a decision on what needs to be done?
If you decide to deepen your relationship with your friend, the knowledge gained by taking the time to to this will be invaluable to you.
Regards,
Cicatrix
