bang out of order seems to have made a couple of posters laugh on here, as they had never heard it before.. it's wierd for me because it's a saying i have always heard/used...good old british slang.. it means that what someone has said is hurtful and unacceptable.. some slang terms from where i come from in the ''black country''.. up the wooden hills - go to bed.

My parents said my sister and I spoke rather posh when we were little, (Lived in the posh area of the BC) but as dubbies we were mocked so started talking to ''fit'' in...Carrot is proper ''Black Country'' and when i first met him i couldn't understand what he and family used to say. Really looking forward to your party

Iconoclast how funny is that word! I said it in front of my parents and my mom said what is that? When i told her the meaning she fell about laughing... Yet she hates words like knackered and arse. Lol

Maybe a repressed memory because it looks like a brontosaurus walking upright.

I always though it was a t-rex cause it had little forearms... Maybe it was a WT hybrid dino?? How did i not notice that it lookes like a brontosaurus!

My dad had the green bible in the 80's. It was only a little dino in the front. Used to fascinate me for hours...

Does anyone remember the Irish comedy ''Father Ted''?? I love the word ''Feck''... I would collapse in a heap everytime i heard it! My dad would always frown at me when i said it... Lol... I think they wonder where i came from!

You've got great fish and chips though! Holy bejeebus, am I jealous! But all the other English food is horrid. No offense! I just mean that your boiled dinner have nothing on our Low Country Crab Boils! And my mother in law is from Cambridge. Her food is so tasteless. I had to force my hubby to eat veggies when I married him because he was convinced that the only way you cook veggies is to boil the hell outta them and he woudn't eat em. I've taught him different now :)

Oh my the BC fish 'n' chips are the best! Massive portions... Battered chips are the best! Ooooooh me wants some now. I never boil my veggies, always steam or roast. My mom is one fantastic cook! Her roast dinners are fab! My inlaws boil their veggies and used tinned potatoes! Errrggghhh! It was wrong soo wrong! Lol

Bangers and mash..... Toad in the hole.... Some of the greatest British dinners to date. Oh and not forgetting crumpets with ''proper'' butter and a pot of tea! Mmmmmmmmm

There's a secretary at Babysprouts school and her name is Mrs Bullock... Babysprout couldn't get her tongue round it and kept calling her Mrs Bollock! It was unbelievably hard to keep control! LMAO! She has to think before she says her name now! Poor sausage. Lol

Watersprout, its funny that the only time us welshies mention sheep is when others bring it up and we have to defend ourselves hahahah x

I've found myself absolutely enamoured with you English people! I'm from the South in the US and, although we have colorful language here, you guys are downright fantastic! I was always wondering what Bullocks meant! There's a guy here at work that has that as his license plate on his car. That is too funny! I think I love him :)

Hahahaha! Thats too funny! The way we talk and have names for things cracks me up and i'm British. People from other countries must think we are crazy. lol
