day 15, i think (i'm on vacation, i don't want to know what day it is) .
i have to rank spokane washington high on the apostate paradise list.
friday i put out an invitation to join someone for lunch in spokane, washington.
Badger,
I hopes you stop by Texas on the way back!
We may stay in Canada as long as we can, and then drop down when we are north of Florida. It's too dog gone hot in the south. Thats why we headed north. But we will come to Texas when the weather becomes more hospitable to humans.
Take care.

first thing you have to realize is that some parts of washington are the prettiest country you will find.
to our surprise there also some parts, a lot in fact, worse than the bad lands of south dakota.
one of them is soap lake, where richard and francis rawe have lived since 1951. they moved there, you guessed it, to serve where the need was great.
Alan,
I'm glad you added that information.
Richard, despite his brilliance, is a tireless, hardworking and humble man. He's one of the finest men I've ever known, and one of the best researchers I know of. It's a crying shame that he's been crippled by multiple strokes, but he keeps going, and doing a tremendous amount of good for ex-JWs.
26 strokes, 3 of which have been serious. And his wife fighting cancer for three decades. Yet look at them in the pictures. They are amazing.
Mulan,
Richard and some other people.

To our surprise there also some parts, a lot in fact, worse than the Bad Lands of South Dakota. One of them is Soap Lake, where Richard and Francis Rawe have lived since 1951. They moved there, you guessed it, to serve where the need was great. He and his wife built up a little congregation but in the early 1970's they both were disfellowshipped as the conclusion of a long political battle with the body of elders. If I understand right, the society reversed the disfellowshipping when the they learned what really happened (Francis had recorded the judicial meeting). Then in time they were DF'd again. They had already been disillusioned by the greed and politics behind the organization.
Throwing them out was a big mistake on the part of the Watchtower because Richard has been relentless for years. While I was exiting the WT I kept hearing about this Richard Rawe and wondered who in Sam Hill was he? Well few people in the exjw world have the resources, the contacts, and the energy to get things done like Richard. He organizes seminars, hounds reporters to publish articles, supplies lawyers with valuable information, finds victims to testify and gathers evidence to prosecute, supplies courts with legal precedents and authors with valuable data and old publications for documentation. What is amazing is that Richard is not some high profile city slicker living in New York or Chicago but is a humble man living in a crooked little house in the desert. He utilizes his phone plan to its max. Yet I do not believe it to be an exaggeration to say a few world pundits as well as all GB members have felt the wind of his breath on the back of their necks.
This is also the couple who's life the play "The Good Faith" was based upon which screened off Broadway last fall and may begin traveling the country soon. Check it out below.

Working on it, Alan. I had to start another Strike9 account for all this pics. Be up in a few minutes, I hope.

Day 15, I think (I'm on vacation, I don't want to know what day it is)
I have to rank Spokane Washington high on the Apostate paradise list. Friday I put out an invitation to join someone for lunch in Spokane, Washington. Well we not only had lunch but also had breakfast, and dinner.(in nearby Soap Lake anyway)
The breakfast folks wanted to remain completely anonymous, so we will have to leave that as it is. I will say they are researchers and thinkers. The internet got the husband excited so he ordered Ray Franz's books, Carl Olof Jonnsons's books as well as Steven Hasson's and that was the end of their Watchtower experience. They even seem to be past the angry stage of leaving. So we came back from breakfast, cranked up the diesel and headed thirty minutes away to the site for lunch.
We had lunch with Puternut, BlueEyes and Octavia. The couple we met at breakfast were thrilled to hear that Puternut was "out". By this time we were all but hungry but ate again anyway. This gang was fun. What an exchange of thoughts, complements and playful insults among friends. Just like our breakfast companions, these three were quality people. One is a craftsman and entrepreneur, another is an artist, and the third is an electrical engineer. No wonder the Watchtower has a high percentage of Janitors. All the rest are leaving.
Joy, Blue Eyes, Octavia and Puternut.
But the day was not over. I'm going to save the dinner experience for a separated thread just so you all meet a couple who are major players in the fight for XJW rights yet whom few know. That thread will be entitled
Who in Sam Hill is Richard Rawe and why does he live in Soap Lake Washington.

dear leolaia
from reading your research, which is wonderful, i'm confused about what moses was trying to say in exodus.
and god went on to speak to moses and to say to him: ?i am jehovah.
Narkissos and Leolaia,
I think I have expressed this before but want to make sure you both got the message which HillaryStep expressed so well
I cannot recall if I have thanked you for the most interesting experience and research you bring to this board. I seldom miss reading your posts.
CodeBlue,
We should never fear to learn. I'm glad you are ready for some history.

yeah that's us again.
another blow out, again on the front, but his time i was driving.
but just three miles from the bad lands state park .
Simplesally,
No, I didn't exactly forget, but didn't get a chance to do it either. Don't even know where to go. Seems difficult while on the road. But hopefully we will be able to pursue it when we get back and before our next trip.
Wildfire,
Yes we visited the Black Hills. Monday I hope to put up a report up on it as well as what I learned about Custer and Little Big Horn. Be sure and look for that one on Monday or Tuesday because I disagree with your opinion about Custer. We can debate that one later.

Big Tex,
I agree. Monday I will post a catchup on events in the Black hills and north on the crow reservation. But so much was happening and yet no one was complaining that going from Sturgis to Deadwood was a terrible trip up a mountain gulch. All I worry about was keeping the coach on the road at 45 mph while watching my temperature gage. Those people inched along on rocks with wooden wagons pulled by four to six horses or mules at about two miles per hour.
jgnat,
Very iteresting. We may come home through Canada. How far north is this area?
Willyloman,
Joy had a buffalo burger in Deadwood (more details Monday). She said she could not tell the difference from beef.
