This documentary was cited as controversial probably because of a lack of journalistic integrity and it also involved Bill Bowen, a known liar.

The first example was some sick family, a teenager that says her Dad raped her in their home for three years until she was 16. She didn't say at what age she informed the elders of the abuse, but she did say, she didn't alert the authorities until she was 18.

Organizations are liable if the abuse takes place in facilities operated by an organization or by officials employed by an organization, like vocational priests in a Catholic school or a Cathedral for example. There was even a cover-up in the American Boyscouts after parents entrusted their children to this organization outside of their supervision. When it comes to these things that take place in some remote location, like someone's home, the elder's involvement from a legal standpoint is conditional.

That is why the police said the Kingdom Hall in Stevenston is not the subject of any investigation in the Alison Cousins case. Who knows what really happened by word of mouth between this family and the elders, but one thing is for certain, is the elders are not the legal authorities. They can't do anything except relay the information to the authorities. If the person telling the elders cannot do this themselves, there's obviously something wrong (unless it's a child). If this person didn't go to the authorities until the age of 18, would she even had stuck to her story if the elders contacted CPS? It's truly a shame that the elders even have to deal with this kind of crap.

They said Armageddon would come before 1914, that the millennium would begin in 1914 (hence : "The World Has Ended. The Golden Age has begun. Millions now living will never die." This means what it says it is a FACT" 1922 Cedar Point convention.)

They change their doctrines over time as each one becomes an embarrassment to them.

The downplaying of dates is a relatively recent thing, and is largely because people are seeing what they said about dates, and showing them up.

Just as they are now claiming they never said anything about 1975 they will soon claim they never put great store by dates.

Remember that all the stuff you spouted above can be changed at the stroke of a pen, and you will have to learn another pile of meat in due season.

There's never been any refinements to doctrinal truths or prophecy to be embarrassed about. You may want to consider the world Charles Taze Russel was living in when Jehovah's Organization began developing in the latter part of 19th century. There was Christendom's churches and religions that branched off from mainstream Christianity that for the most part carried the same theme as their counterpart...

There's not worldview (comprehensive view of existence) that even makes any sense outside of the truth about what the Bible teaches, nor is there any real evidence that supports alternate views of reality.

If you think you have the right viewpoint you should start your own little church or organization. In all honesty, I would call the new movement “mass confusion” as people here believe so many different things, yet they only criticize Jehovah's Witnesses.

The accusations of covering up child abuse in Jehovah's Organization is bit off topic, but these claims are only made by ex-Jehovah's Witnesses unlike the secular sources that initially exposed the Catholic Church.

You only speak for yourself on this open discussion board. If you're trying to impress upon me that an apostate is a rotten human being and you are telling me “I'm an apostate” than I won't communicate with you anymore. Problem solved.

By openly identifying yourself as an apostate, drawing on Bible principals to condemn me is like a convicted felon judging someone who ran a red light.

No thetrueone, the fulfillment of Bible prophecy doesn't always revolve around pivotal dates. One example:

With the disbanding of the Soviet Union in December 1991, the king of the north suffered a serious setback. Who will be this king when Daniel 11:44, 45 is fulfilled? Will he be identified with one of the countries that were part of the former Soviet Union? Or will he change identity completely, as he has done a number of times before? Will the development of nuclear weapons by additional nations result in a new arms race and have a bearing on the identity of that king? Only time will provide answers to these questions. We are wise not to speculate. When the king of the north embarks on his final campaign, the fulfillment of prophecy will be clearly discerned by all who have Bible-based insight. —See “Kings in Daniel Chapter 11,” on page 284.

I didn't cover anything up. What organization on the planet is as meticulous as Jehovah's Organization when it comes to the fulfillment of Bible prophecy? If you require perfection, establish this first before nitpicking and grasping at straws.
