This documentary was cited as controversial probably because of a lack of journalistic integrity and it also involved Bill Bowen, a known liar.

Her first film was a controversial one - an investigation into the way Jehovah's Witnesses deal with allegations of child abuse - was broadcast in July.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/static/audio_video/programmes/panorama/transcripts/transcript_14_07_02.txt
The first example was some sick family, a teenager that says her Dad raped her in their home for three years until she was 16. She didn't say at what age she informed the elders of the abuse, but she did say, she didn't alert the authorities until she was 18.
Organizations are liable if the abuse takes place in facilities operated by an organization or by officials employed by an organization, like vocational priests in a Catholic school or a Cathedral for example. There was even a cover-up in the American Boyscouts after parents entrusted their children to this organization outside of their supervision. When it comes to these things that take place in some remote location, like someone's home, the elder's involvement from a legal standpoint is conditional.
That is why the police said the Kingdom Hall in Stevenston is not the subject of any investigation in the Alison Cousins case. Who knows what really happened by word of mouth between this family and the elders, but one thing is for certain, is the elders are not the legal authorities. They can't do anything except relay the information to the authorities. If the person telling the elders cannot do this themselves, there's obviously something wrong (unless it's a child). If this person didn't go to the authorities until the age of 18, would she even had stuck to her story if the elders contacted CPS? It's truly a shame that the elders even have to deal with this kind of crap.

I'll take a look at anything from a credible media outlet.

"Alice -
The Witchtower applied all these scriptures to the world situation in the late 19th century.
They said Armageddon would come before 1914, that the millennium would begin in 1914 (hence : "The World Has Ended. The Golden Age has begun. Millions now living will never die." This means what it says it is a FACT" 1922 Cedar Point convention.)
They change their doctrines over time as each one becomes an embarrassment to them.
The downplaying of dates is a relatively recent thing, and is largely because people are seeing what they said about dates, and showing them up.
Just as they are now claiming they never said anything about 1975 they will soon claim they never put great store by dates.
Remember that all the stuff you spouted above can be changed at the stroke of a pen, and you will have to learn another pile of meat in due season.
HB"
The “faithful and discreet slave” published the following in clear language in 1968.
w68 8/15 p. 494 Why Are You Looking Forward to 1975?
WHAT about all this talk concerning the year 1975? Lively discussions, some based on speculation, have burst into flame during recent months among serious students of the Bible. Their interest has been kindled by the belief that 1975 will mark the end of 6,000 years of human history since Adam’s creation. The nearness of such an important date indeed fires the imagination and presents unlimited possibilities for discussion.
But wait! How do we know their calculations are correct? What basis is there for saying Adam was created nearly 5,993 years ago? Does the one Book that can be implicitly trusted for its truthful historical accuracy, namely, the Inspired Word of Jehovah, the Holy Bible, give support and credence to such a conclusion?
One thing is absolutely certain, Bible chronology reinforced with fulfilled Bible prophecy shows that six thousand years of man’s existence will soon be up, yes, within this generation! (Matt. 24:34) This is, therefore, no time to be indifferent and complacent. This is not the time to be toying with the words of Jesus that “concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father.” (Matt. 24:36) To the contrary, it is a time when one should be keenly aware that the end of this system of things is rapidly coming to its violent end. Make no mistake, it is sufficient that the Father himself knows both the “day and hour”!There's never been any refinements to doctrinal truths or prophecy to be embarrassed about. You may want to consider the world Charles Taze Russel was living in when Jehovah's Organization began developing in the latter part of 19th century. There was Christendom's churches and religions that branched off from mainstream Christianity that for the most part carried the same theme as their counterpart...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seventh-day_Adventist_Church
Much of the theology of the Seventh-day Adventist Church corresponds to Protestant Christian teachings such as the Trinity and the infallibility of Scripture.
...and other religious movements during that time.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theosophy
Theosophy is a doctrine of religious philosophy and mysticism. Theosophy holds that all religions are attempts by the "Spiritual Hierarchy" to help humanity in evolving to greater perfection, and that each religion therefore has a portion of the truth. The founding members, Helena Petrovna Blavatsky (1831–1891), Henry Steel Olcott (1832–1907), and William Quan Judge (1851–1896), established the Theosophical Society in New York City in 1875.
Charles Taze Russel and his contemporaries drew on the only ideas in the world around them before the early Bible students established universal truth. Critics of Jehovah's Witnesses often analyze the early development of Jehovah's Witnesses under a microscope without looking at the big picture. You will not receive a medal if you discover a clerical error. There's not worldview (comprehensive view of existence) that even makes any sense outside of the truth about what the Bible teaches, nor is there any real evidence that supports alternate views of reality.
If you think you have the right viewpoint you should start your own little church or organization. In all honesty, I would call the new movement “mass confusion” as people here believe so many different things, yet they only criticize Jehovah's Witnesses. -

“Answer : Alice is running in circles!!”
I have little time to play stupid games with people I assume are adults or reiterate the logical fallacy you're trying to use on me. I'm not “running in circles,” I'm communicating with knot heads.

knot head
A person who has trouble thinking in a logical progression. This is usually caused by a profound amount of circular reasoning tying their brain into a knot. -

"Good biblical quote. Maybe you could tell me why the society constantly criticizes the Catholic Church for its pedophile priests when the Watchtower Society themselves paid out millions of dollars in settlements to victims of abuse in THEIR OWN religion?"
The accusations of covering up child abuse in Jehovah's Organization is bit off topic, but these claims are only made by ex-Jehovah's Witnesses unlike the secular sources that initially exposed the Catholic Church.

“Besides, who will uphold Truth on this board full of vipers and apostates!”
You only speak for yourself on this open discussion board. If you're trying to impress upon me that an apostate is a rotten human being and you are telling me “I'm an apostate” than I won't communicate with you anymore. Problem solved.By openly identifying yourself as an apostate, drawing on Bible principals to condemn me is like a convicted felon judging someone who ran a red light.

"Self contradiction, the historical doctrinal dogma that the WTS/JWS have been spewing out of their mouths since their existence would suggest an opposition to that statement."
No thetrueone, the fulfillment of Bible prophecy doesn't always revolve around pivotal dates. One example:
w69 5/15 p. 307 par. 19 Crushing All Nations in Our Day by God’s Kingdom
Yes, Daniel gives the final outcome. The final words of this prophecy say: “He will have to come all the way to his end, and there will be no helper for him.” (Dan. 11:44, 45) Thus Daniel’s prophecy reveals that “the king of the north” will not succeed in his ambitious aims to dominate the whole earth, especially to bring about the destruction of “the king of the south.”
w91 9/1 p. 6 The Bible’s View of Peace and Security
Pushing’ Between World Powers
When he spoke of the time of distress, the prophet Daniel also introduced a time element. He showed that the time of distress would occur at the end of long-standing conflict between two power blocs, one called “the king of the north” and the other, “the king of the south.” (Daniel 11:5-43) Since the end of World War II, these power blocs have been represented by a capitalistic “king of the south” and a socialistic “king of the north.”
dp chap. 16 pp. 280-281 The Contending Kings Near Their End
THE FINAL CAMPAIGN
The rivalry between the king of the north and the king of the south—whether by military, economic, or other means—is nearing its end. Revealing the details of a conflict yet to come, Jehovah’s angel said: “There will be reports that will disturb him [the king of the north], out of the sunrising and out of the north, and he will certainly go forth in a great rage in order to annihilate and to devote many to destruction. And he will plant his palatial tents between the grand sea and the holy mountain of Decoration; and he will have to come all the way to his end, and there will be no helper for him.” —Daniel 11:44, 45.
With the disbanding of the Soviet Union in December 1991, the king of the north suffered a serious setback. Who will be this king when Daniel 11:44, 45 is fulfilled? Will he be identified with one of the countries that were part of the former Soviet Union? Or will he change identity completely, as he has done a number of times before? Will the development of nuclear weapons by additional nations result in a new arms race and have a bearing on the identity of that king? Only time will provide answers to these questions. We are wise not to speculate. When the king of the north embarks on his final campaign, the fulfillment of prophecy will be clearly discerned by all who have Bible-based insight. —See “Kings in Daniel Chapter 11,” on page 284.
I didn't cover anything up. What organization on the planet is as meticulous as Jehovah's Organization when it comes to the fulfillment of Bible prophecy? If you require perfection, establish this first before nitpicking and grasping at straws.
“Stop judging that you may not be judged; for with what judgment you are judging, you will be judged; and with the measure that you are measuring out, they will measure out to you. Why, then, do you look at the straw in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the rafter in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Allow me to extract the straw from your eye’; when, look! a rafter is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First extract the rafter from your own eye, and then you will see clearly how to extract the straw from your brother’s eye. Matthew 7:1-5
