  in the september 15, 1910 wt he made these shocking claims regarding the 6 scripture studies that he wrote:.

  "that is to say, they are not merely comments on the bible, but they are practically the bible itself...".

  Yes, we can. Simple version.

  Longer version, I've learned more in the last year by reading the bible and ONLY the bible about Jesus and his teachings than I've ever have using the WT publications. I've done a lot of spiritual soul searching and have found that by meditating I have found that inner spiritual self and it has been leading me through some great experiences!

  EDIT: Just wanted to throw out the phrase Confirmation Bias. It's just another tool of self-justification and a part of cognitive dissonance.

  If You Had To Have A Religion Which Would You Not Mind Belonging To?

  if you were even born into a religion, would you feel that you had to get out?

  ( the only religion that i know of where people get out and often never go to any other religion is the jw religion)..

  I don't know about joining another religion, but I've been liking the Buddhist philosphy of life more and more I read. Mix that with a lot of OUTLAWS religion mixed in with OTWO's cheerleaders I'll be set!

  Are you suspicious of LURKERS?

  we all know they're here but we don't really know who they are.. they are people who sign up here and then never comment (or rarely ever do).. doesn't that make any of you regulars here at the very least a tiny bit suspicious?.

  why would a person sign up to a forum like this and then never say a damn thing?

  it seems to me that there is a primary reason why some folks sign up and then never comment on anything: to spy.

  Vamp, no offense bud, but you sound a bit paranoid. Yeah, it is a bit agitating that POSSIBLY some lurker could 'out' me. But whatever, I got bigger fish to fry than watching my back for a quak job cult member.

  Maybe they're the lurker type that really is sick of being in the cult, wants out, but is staying in for their own reasons. Maybe they feel that by participating that would be the crucifying factor if questioned by an elder if they were looking at apostate sites? Who knows?

  Reinstated Males Serving as Ass'y Attendants

  at the circuit assembly this weekend i noticed two guys reinstated within the last year were both serving as attendants.

  i thought brothers had to be "exemplary" to do that kind of work.

  have the requirements changed?

  Attendants are no bodies, that's like OTWO said, one rung above toilet duty. 1 year after I was reinstated they were using me as an Attendant at the CA. Big freakin whoop, I got to walk around and act all that so I wouldn't have to pay attention at least. lol

  Conscious Class: Do you still go in field service?

  yknot, miseryloveselders,elderelite,etc...) do you guys still go in the field ministry?

  and if so, what do you focus on?

  January 1 WT - Garden of Eden - Most inane article in a while

  the wt has really managed to outdo itself in regards to stupid, poorly researched articles attempting to defend ancient myths as literal history.

  the latest effort is the cover article "the garden of eden - myth or fact?".

  no moderately educated adult should have to ponder that question for long before answering "myth".

  The problem is Sab, there are SO MANY different doctrines that hinge the WTS theology together that any one of them can be proven wrong the whole thing would collapse. Adam and Eve being literal, 144k being literal, Jerusalem destroyed in 607 BCE to get to 1914.... the list goes on...

  The whole thing is built on a house of cards. The real problem is that JWs take this bullshit as the word of God when the GB say it...

  ele_lux, welcome to JWN! Congratulations on your awakening and even though the road may be rough exiting or transitioning 'out', it is all worth it, YOU are all worth it, don't let feelings of guilt or fear or the JW line, 'we're not worthy' get you down. Ever. You are doing excellent to think for yourself and remember, always make progress, don't let the active JWs bring you down again.
