  one day a teacher asked her students to list the names of the other students in the room on two sheets of paper, leaving a space between each name.

  then she told them to think of the nicest thing they could say about each of their classmates and write it down.

  it took the remainder of the class period to finish their assignment, and as the students left the room, each one handed in the papers.

  september 11, 1971 nancy and i were married in fairmont minnesota by a chevy auto mechanic in the basement of a hardware store.

  he gave us some very good advise, change your oil every three thousand miles, and rotate your tires every six thousand miles and flush your radiator once a year.

  september 11, 2001, was our 30th year anniversary and we had planned to go out to dinner to celebrate.

  if you had to describe the faithful slave, information disseminating arm of the organization as having a singular, human personality, what would that personality be like?

  would it not be that of a nagging mother?

  how many "warnings" about apostates, the internet, satan, worldlies, workmates, people met while on vacation, satan, working too much, not putting forth enough effort, the media, slowing down, satan, entertainment, satan satan satan, etc.

  Or does it sometimes seem like these pictures are so much propaganda?? Do you sometimes giggle at them??

  I don't know about giggle, but I remember being a kid and drawing mustaches, beards, horns, ropes around their necks, ect...on the pictures. I was bored, and I'd heard the same story, over and over, and over, and over, while I waited and waited and waited and waited . Then I'd get in trouble for laughing and causing my sister to laugh during the meeting and would get drug to the bathroom for a spanking with the belt (or sometimes a paddle ball paddle) brought just for this purpose. And I'd get spanked loud enough that the entire kingdom hall knew what was going on.

  I've been out for awhile now, but, I hear they have the same story, with a brighter light and their still waiting.

  Meetups are a great way to get to know new people.....

  What do you miss the most not being a witness anymore?

  is there anything that you miss, since you don't belong to the jw's anymore?

  friendship, family, or maybe just the feeling of belonging to some groupe that had you dreaming of a better world?

  I miss my parents....my sister....my younger two brothers that I never got a chance to know....

  I guess I just don't miss them enough...not enough to jump through hoops.

  JW's 'acting badly'.

  the worst experience i think i ever had with jws acting badly was one time when a good friend of mine (a former jw like myself) tom, had a jw cousin in the hospital due to a very bad car accident.

  his cousin (a woman in her late thirties) had suffered severe head trauma and it was not known at that time if she would recover.

  practically all of toms immediate and extended family was jws.

  I've got one for you.....This past summer my mom was in the hospital for surgery, this was one of the very few times over the years that I have heard from either of my parents. At some point, I asked my mom if anyone had been to the hospital to visit her, after she hemm hawwed around and finally said a couple pioneers had been by. One of these pioneer sisters had a bible study in the hospital, so they stopped by my mom's room, since they were at the hospital anyway. A few days later I called again to see how my mom was doing, this time I talked to my dad and asked him the same question, has any of the brothers or sisters been to the hospital to see mom, He said, they are very busy with putting up a new kingdom hall.

  When my husbands mother was in the hospital, her room and the waiting room always had church people their. 24-7 Sometimes just one member, sometimes 50+ people.

  So friends, hypothetically, and I repeat, hypothetically, even if an angel were to come down here and land on this platform, today, at this moment, and to present something to us that didn’t fit into the pattern of truth, what should we be ready to do? We should be ready to say, “Hold on there, that doesn’t fit into the pattern, and I am not going to listen to it!” Yes, even if it were one of Jehovah’s angels.

  And we do that, today, by listening to the Faithful and Discreet Slave, who Jesus appointed over all his belongings to give us our spiritual food at the proper time.

  Wouldn't it be cool if an angel did fly down and land on the platform............

  and what if the angel came down to get the FDS?...would they not listen?

  he appears to be one of those big, very good looking men who is use to having people pander to him.

  y-all know the type, pretty-boy, who the ladies, starting with momma, always think is wonderful no matter what stupid thing he does or says.
