in my culture using the first name or even last name ( we use mom, dad, sir,ma'am,grandma, grandpa, auntie, uncle) of my parents or an older and respected person in my family or circle of friends it is considered downright disrespectful!!!
even when it comes to a person who is a doctor in secluar society, out of respect you would say dr. last name, not using the first name.
not sure of how your culture does things, but if its a friend or an aquatintence of the same age we typicaly can use their first name.
I heard it (someone else said it), and the spirit within me recognized this name, bearing witness and confirming this to me as true, so that is what I use, unless I use only title and description. Jah is evidenced in many names of many prophets also, as is El. Though El being more of a general name/title, and Jah being the name given to Moses specifically.
IsraEL
IshmaEL
EzekiEL
DaniEL
SamuEL
JoEL
And then there is ELiJAH... who has both in his name, meaning 'My God is JAHveh' (most translations will render that 'My God is Yahweh')
Then...
IsaiAH
ObadiAH
JonAH
MicAH
ZechariAH
Then the one who comes in the name of JAH : JAHeshua. (like Y'eshua... YAH'eshua)
So one can ask, and one can look at the evidence of the names given and their meanings.... something that is much more accurate than taking a mishmash of the tetragrammatron and the vowels of Adonai, to create a name on one's own guess/reasoning. Then insisting that anyone who does not use that name cannot be heard by God.
What does Oy! Vey! mean? I have been curious about that.

Yeah... I didn't say that, Cofty. You're doing that thing you do... where you twist words to make false statements about someone.
Israel's hearts were hard. (the Jews, once again, are only a small portion of Israel) I suppose you could take that up with the prophets OF Israel though. Or the God OF Israel, from whom the prophets spoke.
Obviously not all of Israel. As has been explained. I mean, the prophets were Israel also, were they not?
Doesn't mean that they were not or are not loved by God. Doesn't mean the hearts of others, other than Israel, are not also hard.
And I am afraid that I cannot put much stock in your fact... as Islam also has divisions and sects, and is not all united/one.

i was chatting today in the sauna, as one does if you don't go to meetings about dining out.
one pleasant fellow said he would never return food, he explained it was because he is convinced the staff would do something to the food.. do you agree?.
kate xx.
I have only worked in two restaurants, and anyone who did anything to the food that was returned would be out of a job... like on the spot. I guess i don't doubt that it happens somewhere, but not over a legitimate complaint.
That being said, I have never sent anything back that I can recall, but i would not be afraid to do so. My mother does send things back though, all the time, and she has been a cook/baker her entire life. I am sure that she has never seen anyone do anything to the food sent back either.

we went swimming today, and joined up in the gym.
we will go every week on a sunday, and i will go alone twice a week.
i found it particularly easy to get involved with the other gym members in the suana, or playing with our kids in the pool.. we had a really great time, we even had reading time by the pool.
That sounds fantastic, Sam. Great move, I agree.

You make judgments against everyone who is a member of that religion, regardless of whether they do or believe the same things or not. Is there a word for that? Prejudiced, perhaps? It still creates a bias against all Muslims, does it not?
I don't despise Israel - whether one is a Jew or of a different tribe. I feel exactly the opposite.

Don't suppose you are going to answer the questions that I asked you, are you Michelle?
They are quite specific, and might show you something ABOUT the gospel, that you are not seeing at the moment.

My guess is that most religions don't use it out of fear.
Because it is not disrespectful to use your parents name when referring to them or when giving credit to them, or when identifying them. Though when speaking to them, yourself, you would most likely use 'mom or dad'.
But when introducing to someone else, you say, "This is my mother, Gertrude." (not my mothers name, lol)
So when telling somone about your God... "My God is Jahveh"... you are introducing someone specific. Opens up some scriptures too... making them specific, rather than generic.
Mind you, if you don't know His name, it is kind of silly to harp on others about not using the mistaken name (jehovah) that you have accepted, and that you judge others for NOT using.

You know, by your guys' reasoning, the Torah is an anti-semitic holy book.
How many comments on this forum speak about genocide from the Israelites, and other such things... by the very person now claiming someone who said the israelites were hard-hearted... is an anti-semetic racist?
Of course Jaheshua was born as a Jew; his apostles were ALL Jewish; his first followers to receive holy spirit were all Israel; the gentiles came in later; so the first to hear and to accept Christ were of Israel. Though some gentiles did also... but Christ was sented FIRST to Israel. When rejected by most, his call and message opened to everyone else as well.
ANY and ALL persecution, hatred, racism, actual anti-semitism, etc... against the Jews... or anyone, including Muslims (and how many comments here are against Islam and ALL Muslims... Cofty...?) is wrong.
It is not different with Christianity... which also strayed from 'her' bridegroom, and committed adultery, whose hearts may also be hard, etc. Is that also racist to say?
