If a couple were in a missionary assignment and one of their parents died, would the branch pay their round trip airfare to attend the funeral?

What is the Craziest Thing You Are Aware Of Someone Being Disfellowshipped For?
by Sea Breeze ini knew a lady who was disfellowshipped for 20 years for smoking.
she finally went back to the kh and since they couldn't find her paperwork, (all the former elders were dead) she was allowed back in without reinstatement.
no one even remembered her.

An elderly sister in our Kingdom Hall was in long term care. She had a couple of strokes and dementia.
She was disfellowshipped for attending a birthday party of one of the other residents, even though she couldn’t really speak up for herself and was in a wheelchair. She probably didn’t even understand what was going on.

Self control fruits of the spirit. Fat GB seem to lack it
by JohnR1975 infruits of the spirit would surely be required to be gb members?
yet some of them seem to lack self control when it comes to eating.
br herd, mark sanderson and br jackson in these are all very obese.. if they travel to poor places wearing their rolex watches and gold pinky rings the brothers there will surely wonder why they are so fat.. there are many scriptures talking about not being greedy and not gluttonous for food.. if they were really chosen by god as his channel on earth then why can’t they show the fruits of the spirit and show self control when it comes to being gluttonous?.

Youths who gave up amazing lives
by JohnR1975 inwhen i was growing up i remember many young people interviewed on the platform at assemblies.
the ones who really stood out are the talented ones who gave up amazing lives to pioneer.. i remember specifically when i was a boy in the 70s and 80s some who were very good at sport or something.
their teachers begged them to get professional training use their talents to the full.

To be fair those who had promising sports/music careers are used to enrich others just like the watchtower enriches themselves on the backs of its members
A very, very small percentage of “promising” sports and music stars make it to fame and recognition.
The coaches, schools recording studios make a living on the backs of these people they promise to be stars

JULY 2025 Study WT Make Decisions
by blondie inwt july 2025 make decisions.
however, if we are humble and modest, we will be quick to absorb the bible-based advice we hear and to benefit from it.. and like david, we should be willing to listen to good advice, no matter who gives it.
an unmarried friend might be helpful if he bases his advice on bible principles.

Blondie:
The problem with “bible based advise” from fellow believers is that most of the time the bible isn’t even referred to.

JULY 2025 STUDY WT How to Give Advice
by blondie ini scanned this article and i saw a theme throughout it.
when info like this shows up in the study wt, you can be sure the elders are doing it wrong and the wts hits directly on what it is.
older elders do it wrong and train by word and action the newer elders to do it wrong.

Green Handshakes - Taxable income in Australia
by Listener ini was doing some research on the taxable status of money being gifted to co’s and travelling missionaries and was surprised with what i found.
i had assumed that it was not taxable income in australia.. it is taxable income in australia and it‘s likely that the same rules apply in some other countries.. a registered religious institution only receives tax free status on donations because they have been endorsed by the australian tax office.
travelling overseas and missionaries are not in this category.. there’s a tax ruling that goes into great detail.

He was born of watchtower privilege so to speak.
His parents were well connected with the watchtower establishment both being missionaries.
He wasn’t the bastard son of a struggling single mother who committed immortality with his worldly father.

God’s wisdom in allowing bearded JWs July 25 Watchtower
by Listener inthe july 2025 watchtower has a paragraph that claims that it was the superior power and wisdom of jehovah that guided the gb into allowing jws to grow beards.. the study article is ‘can you still learn from basic bible teachings?’ under the subheading ‘jehovah is the creator’ paragraph 7 states-.
“ 7. what did rahela do to accept a change in direction?.

The only reason they write stuff in the watchtower is to correct the followers.
There must be a report from a circuit overseer somewhere that some people are murmuring about the new dress code.
So they made up this fake experience to counsel the followers.
