The JW's are not trained in "Unconditional love". It's conditional, they think that shunning is "loving" as it is supposed to bring people back to the fold. A religion that is restrictive, discourages "independent thinking" etc. That's why they are often referred to as the "borg" around here.

The JW's are a cult who practice shunning. Stay here awhile, it'll help, most people I've dated look @ me like I have 3 heads when I try and explain the JW's to them. I wish some of my exes would have come on here.

Folks, they've had LPG/propane vehicles for decades. It's nothing new, I almost bought a 1970's muscle car that had been converted a loooong time ago a year or so back, can't remember the model.

"Stone the infidels", erm ... I mean apologists (IMPORTANT)
by Simon ini've noticed a trend lately which is becoming annoying and is definitely something we want to address and put a stop to.. we'll see topics or get pms about some 'evil poster' that is making abusive posts or harrassing someone, driving people from the forum, yada yada and so we look ... and find nothing.
we ask for examples of their behavior where they have harrassed people and it goes rather quiet.
in fact, we find just the opposite - people being respectful and in return getting abusive posts directed towards them.. and why the hostility?.

I think Simon was talking more about running to the mods and/or accusing the apologists of stuff that's just not happening. Tongue lashings, when warranted I believe are still

I agree. While the apologists are often annoying, one thing that I find carries over from the JW's is the whole persecution complex. It's drives me nuts when some of the recent apologists claim persecution and verbal abuse when there is none, it's even worse when claimed by us exjw's. Do the apologists almost always stick there heads in the sand when given valid evidence contrary to their beliefs? Yep. So did we once, that's what makes it a cult and a problem. The inability to reason correctly. Cognitive dissonance. Avoiding "independent thinking". They are GOING TO DO THIS. Some learn ,some don't, but that's the nature of the beast. And expecting them to change to fit what we want is pretty much the flip side of the same coin.

Am i correct?
by angel eyes inthis is just an obsevation from me...ok i dont mean to annoy anyone but is it true or just me?.
i feel that ones raised in the truth are so much better of than us who came in from the world.
i say that because they have family who are witnesses too.

Oh, and not to mention, that if you decide it's not for you, and leave as a born in, you lose your entire support system, with NO secondary education. Try that for awhile @ 18 and see how that works for ya.

Being raised a JW sucks. Cold winters @ 3 door to door, hot summers in a suit, door to door. Hot assemblies, in a suit, and in the 1970's, 4 to five days, in a suit, 10 hours a day @ the assembly. Not being trained to protect yourself from kids who kick your ass every day at school, not being protected from abusers as your parents are trained to trust that the elders will take care of it, not the police. If the abuser denies it, the risk of being branded a slanderer if you warn others. Bans on vaccines, transplants, and transfusions in life-threatening situations.
Yeah, that's well protected, AE. Another thing? If you don't have kids, don't breed. Please. -

Why Can't We Accept The Jehovah's Witness Religion For Its Good & Bad?
by minimus ini know many catholics, protestants and jews who practice their religion and even if they don't believe or accept everything that is stated, they still are content to be members of their faith.
basically, many people don't accept their churches 100% but still happily remain.. exjw's on the other hand view the witness religion as totally horrible.
we are not like other religions.
