  i intend for this to be one of a series of bite-sized ops on the evidence for evolution.. introduction to dna genes are sequences of dna made up of words (codons) each of which are three letters (bases) long.

  there are only four letters in the genetic alphabet (acg&t) each word or codon is the recipe for one amino acid.

  there are 20 different amino acids in living organisms.

  Hooby - In the context of the page you posted as evidence Alaya is using the word to refer to scientists who specialise in the field of molecular evolution. You used it in a pejorative sense to refer to anybody who accepts the fact of evolution.

  Virtually all scientists are 'evolutionists' in the second sense of the word as you used it, but only a percentage of those are 'evolutionists' in the first sense as Alaya uses it.

  It is a silly descriptor in the way you use it. Should somebody who accepts the fact of gravity be labelled a 'gravitaionalist' or should scientists who don't believe that the solar system revolves around the earth be called heliocentricists?

  My OP is a summary of a news report from Reuters for which I provided a link.

  The phrase 'positive fundamental view towards state and society' that you are making such a fuss about is cited in the article. When you made a point about the phrase it took me about 3 minutes to go to the Austrian Government website, find the 'Islam Law' and get the context which you could have done for yourself.

  The OP has nothing to do with the Watchtower.

  I didn't word it - Austrian law worded it.

  The test for 'a positive fundamental view towards state and society' is any threat to public order or security. JWs have never endangered public order or security. Phrases cannot be plucked from laws without context.

The Religious Society must have a positive basic attitude towards society and the state. The recognition can also be revoked, especially if the Religious Society does not have a positive basic attitude towards the state and society (any more), respectively public order and security would be endangered.

  The Witnesses aren't positive towards state and society.

  seems like such an obviously correct decision to overturn the previous overreach - it should never have been necessary to go to the supreme court but happened because the rights of the religious were being ignored.. as the fundamental level, no one should be able to compel you to work for them or to provide services that go against your beliefs, and certainly not have the government be able to force you to comply.. if this was allowed there would be so many unreconcilable situations that would clog up courts over nonsense.. i also have little patience for these activists that intentionally look to be offended.

  so miss america pageant is going to remove the swimsuit and evening gown parts of their pageant because they have decided it's demeaning to women.

  i guess it will just be women in overcoats telling us they want world peace .... bravo, we all applaud, right?

  Feminism ought to be about allowing women to freely choose what they do what they say and what they wear.

  Instead it has become about portraying women as helpless victims who need 'movements' to make decisions on their behalf.

  I suspect those at the forefront of banning public displays of female beauty have reason to be jealous.
