Nothing smacks of nazism like a poem that glorifies people that intentionally target women and children as targets.

you fight a war with bullets and bombs.
you may put me in graves and tombs.
but you fail to see reality.

i, like many people here failed to see the connection between the events of 9/11 and saddam.
my first inclination was to think that bush was targeting saddam because he couldn't find osama, or something like that...... yesterday, i saw a few different reporters on tv who either spoke of or showed a mural in iraq of the world trade center bombing.
i was a lovely portrait of the airplanes crashing into the towers................this spoke volumes to me!
I don’t think the mural is indicative of guilt, it just shows someone was happy it happened and expressed their opinion with paint. However, velvet Elvi (what’s the plural from of Elvis) are a form of murder

an interesting article which somewhat reflects my own take on what i see happening.
please note that this does not put any judgement on whether i think it is a good thing or not so please do not "shoot the messenger".. whether you believe or accept the points or not it is an interesting read.
i personally think that the action bush has taken in the last few years has done more harm to the usa than it's enemies ever could which is surely a crime?..
<sarcasm>
Yeah Azalo, there is a shortage of people over here in the states speaking out against the war because they all get fired from the jobs.
</sarcasm>
Joe Lieberman was booed at the Democratic convention in California (about two weeks ago) when he spoke out in favor of the war. Where his rights violated? Did the democratic delegates participate in ‘McCarthyism’? Or did the just express there opinions in line with their constitutional rights? It seems that when anyone criticizes someone’s opinion charges of McCarthyism are immediately laid upon the critic. Free speech runs both directions.
The Dixie chicks alienated their audience; people do not have a constitutional obligation to buy their records. Recording stars and movie stars are not like average citizens, it is a field where enraging you core audience is not a good idea. For the common worker however no one is being fired because they are pro/anti war. If the do they would have a wonderful wrongful termination case on their hands.
280 million people live in America, somewhere some idiot is going to fire someone because they disagree with there politics, and this statistically insignificant number does not disprove my above argument.

You might do you self a favor Simon if you did not believe everything you read in the Guardian. Everybody in America can state their opinion; it is a ludicrous accusation to say people are having their freedom of speech curtailed. What’s happening however is people are responding to the left with criticism, basically exercising their freedom of speech and some on the left do not like that.
Terry
much better than ever changing polls and public opinion.. what do you think?
many believe that america 'cannot loose' as they have a massively more powerful force against guys with rifles but could they get bogged down for longer than expected?
could the economy collapse?
I edited mine but if you want the statement gone you both are going to have to edit the quote.

not heard a lot on this recently.
are there still hundreds of people chained, blindfolded etc in open cages still?.
kinda topical with the issue of treatment of pows being to the fore now.. isp

i've just seen the al-jazeera footage.
its truly shocking.
there were about 6-7 us soldiers.
Do you think there is actually a moral equivalency between the way Americans treat the prisoners in Cuba and the way the Iraqis treated the Americans. It is obvious that many of the American soldiers were shot in the head execution style. That does not happen in Cuba. Or put more bluntly can you honestly say you would rather be an American prisoner in Iraqi hands than an Al-quida(sp?) prisoner in Cuba?
Remember when you refute this scale counts, we are looking at the rule not the exception.
