Why would you be confused unless you're laboring under the delusion that the destruction of Jerusalem had anything to do with Invisible Jesus Math?

If Jerusalem destruction was truly significant- Why would an almighty God allow so much confusion regarding the date?
by mankkeli ini was just thinking that if truly the destruction of jerusalem would have any significance today, why should there be so much confusion surrounding its date and discrepancies regarding the names of those neo-babylonian kings.. .
if truly that event was significant, why should it be so difficult for the almighty god to pen down the exact date in the bible and shield us from unnecessary debates, reliance on scholars and opaque explanations from religions with ulterior motives?.
i cant comprehend any reason to justify the silence from god on this date.. .

Here is the funeral talk outline. VERY discraceful.
by stillstuckcruz inthis is truly terrible.
i just love the statement "instead of eulogizing the deceased, use the material in this outline to give a fine witness concerning the truth.
" in other words, utterly disregard the deceased.

I'm half tempted to start making out my Last Will and Testament now should something like this happens to me. Seriously. No way in hell am I going to be eulogized in this fashion or my memories desecrated. Call me stubborn and prideful if you will, but there comes a time when you just have to say "enough". It just sucks that my death may have to be the "enough" that finally wakes up my JW family. I'd just as soon be dead than live a life that is no life at all.

Could The Watchtower and Awake Collapse?
by metatron inthis is not a prophesy, folks, but rather a train of thought to pursue about the organization, especially in light of its recent legal problems.. could the magazines collapse?
the watchtower is published in 188 languages?
and the awake a rather huge number as well?.

God will bring to ruin those ruining the earth. Mass druicide can't go on forever.

Could the Governing Body be done away with?
by Aussie Oz ini posted this idea on another thread but perhaps it is worth its own discussion.. could the gb be done away with?
seriously.. they came to be, out of a troubled time.
there was much opposition as we know to the whole gb idea at the time.

I don't think most of the guys on the current GB could survive prison, most of them are a bunch of limp-wristed cowards. But then again, maybe King David and his pals might actually enjoy being somebody's bitch ;-P

It's completely and utterly dehumanizing.
Apparently a watchtower is a structure built from headstones.

trans,
But how well is it really working? Look at the turnover. Look at the churn. The apathy. The low funds, which necessitate the need to sell off the property. The lack of capable brothers. The increasing pressure from the outside. The increasing pressure from the inside - much of it aimed at younger and younger kids. More and more lectures on not doubting, and more demonstrations where the WT acknowledges that the flock is not "getting it" and providing "explanations" that are nothing more than temporary diversions. They're coasting at best, slowly imploding at worst.
It's a one-trick pony. How long do you think they can keep it up? Formulaic TV shows may last for decades, but none of them have lasted forever.

Although the GB may be the ones who control the minds and hearts of the R&F, I think the lawyers and bean counters are the folks who really keep the corporation from going under, whether the GB realize/acknowledge it, cooperate with it, or not. Whether all, most, some, or none of them really believe what they're selling, it doesn't matter. If they want to keep the business going, the GB may prove to be more of a liability in the long run and get the axe... possibly from a shrewd "newly anointed" businessman who realizes the need for new ideas. There'll be a power struggle for sure, assuming the GB really believe their BS - and most of them sure act like they do - but these are also men who I doubt are ready to give up their positions of power and the only "career" they know. Put enough pressure of DFing them by a group of new nibble-n-sip legalists or money men and you might just have the coup of a lifetime.
