Why the so formal attire?

having visited various churches i have seen that many of their members are casually dressed while worshipping.

the contrast with the jws is great, why do they always have to be formally dressed in their suits and anyone wishing to dress casually is frowned upon?

it goes to show how pharisaic and controlling the cult is.

In retrospect, I think they are trained to be like slick salespeople. The ol' guys in Crooklyn want the rank-and-file to "sell" their message to new recruits by always dressing in their "Sunday Best" even when it's Saturday morning.

In four years, I had two "brothers" propose to me.

I don't think of love as a "destination" rather more like a "journey." Each new day should provide new ways of loving and feeling loved. When one of two people begins to take the other for granted, then it's just a matter of time before it's all over.

Teachers for the most part are people that went to college for four years and cant figure out what to do.

You are entitled to your opinion. Perhaps you speak condescendingly because you didn't have good teachers growing up. I for one had some excellent teachers both in private and public school. Just as in any profession --including doctors and lawyers--- there will be some who are not as capable as others. The very good ones are worth ten times what they make in my opinion because they provide children (some future lawyers and doctors among them) with skills they will use their whole life.

Too much money is being wasted in courts handling frivolous lawsuits.

Perhaps a court mediation session should be mandated for most cases which seem to fit this description to "weed them out" before much court time is spent on frivolous lawsuits.

More:

I’d like to see Teachers of our public school get a pay raise. Too many talented teachers whose job is critical to the foundation of our newer generations are leaving the profession because the salary just isn’t competitive to other professionals who complete a four year degree.

It sucks to be hurt on purpose ...

i sent out wedding invitations last week.

apparently they caused my parents to get a divorce.

i got an e-mail from my mother saying that she left my dad, is filing for divorce, and that dad thinks she left because she wants to go to my wedding and he won't let her.

Maybe your mom just feels a tad jealous that you're married life is beginning and hers is coming to disappointing end. That's not very mature: she should be happy for you.

Try not to worry too much about her. Maybe she'll see the light about her religion eventually when she realizes that "worldly" couples can be happy and committed to each other. Just let her know if she wants to talk, she knows how you can be reached. In time she might open up to you more.

Adjusting well after leaving the dubs

after you left the jws what were some milestone events that helped you adjust to normal life outside the cult eg meeting a genuinely christian group, or getting a good job with high income, marrying a nice "worldly" person.

after leaving i had a nice girlfriend which helped a lot to ease the tensions and an interesting job where i met a lot of people and had some good social life.

soon the jw world became a distant storm far below and after the internet came out i got the long since needed information on some still outstanding issues and lost all esteem for them as i realised the fds was definitely an elaborate con.

Great question!

A big milestone was getting qualified to go to college. I also went to several birthday parties and I went to a Christmas Program at a local church.

I would like to say that initially, looks are important but equally important is personality. If I can laugh with a guy, he's half way winninig me over.
