  Revelation isn't for the "Great Crowd" either?? sheesh!

  i just saw in the revelation book, that revelation is also not addressed directly to the great crowd.

  holy cow!!

  is there any scripture at all that the great crowd can claim as its very own??

  I heard a comment from a former JW. He said “when you read the NT as applying to yourself it takes a whole different meaning”. I put it to the test, got a different translation and began reading the letter to the Galatians – a real aye opener- then all the Pauline letters and the Matthew Gospel. In less than 3 months, I began to feel the closest connection to Jehovah and His Son than I ever felt in 10 plus year of association with the witnesses.

  I find it ironic how the GB pushes the R&F to grad people who need to feel connected to their Creator, then gives them a false sense of spirituality and later robs them from the most important relationship that a man and a woman could have… a truly personal relationship with their Creator and God.

  Jesus or Governing Body...Who's the Mediator?

  what do you think the jw response would be if i asked if the faithful&discreet slave is considered to mediate for jw's?

  would they admit that?...or would they say that jesus is?

  from what i've seen here, they seem to acknowledge that the governing body/fds mediates.

  Many JW are not aware of this doctrine. I’m almost sure that if you ask this question to the average witness they’ll say Jesus is our mediator. Keep in mind that this teaching is not frequently mentioned in the WT literature. I think that only the “old timers” are more familiar with this.

  I found a very revealing comment of 1 Tim 2:5 in Wesley’s Notes.

  Wesley's Notes

  2:5 For - The fourth verse is proved by the fifth; the first, by the fourth. There is one God - And they who have not him, through the one Mediator, have no God. One mediator also - We could not rejoice that there is a God, were there not a mediator also; one who stands between God and men, to reconcile man to God, and to transact the whole affair of our salvation. This excludes all other mediators, as saints and angels, whom the Papists [Governing Body] set up and idolatrously worship as such: just as the heathens of old set up many mediators, to pacify their superior gods. The man - Therefore all men are to apply to this mediator, who gave himself for all.

  In essence, the GB is setting themselves above Christ and can be rightfully accused of promoting idolatry.

  i ordered both of franz books, and have received just by dumb luck the coc first, and will start reading it tonight.

  my husband hates to read, and i could spend every waking moment doing so, so i have committed to reading the book aloud to him, and we will do so in the evenings for as long as it takes to go through the whole thing, and then start on the 2nd.

  also, i've decided to start looking into getting my rn degree, i've always thought i'd be good at it, and it should follow me if i decide to move, nurses are needed everywhere.

  I spoke to Ray Franz for the first time today

  i have been feeling very blue and hopeless lately.

  i miss my family and needed some affirmation that i am right in my characterization of the jws.

  i called ray to hear it from the someone in the know, as to what really goes on in the gb meetings and if they really believe what they say.

  Hmmmm,

  I have a friend who is far away from his JW family, was also abused as a child, he is “fading” (good for him) and lives in the north east.

  Im never going to forget that morning when I got a phone call that he tried to do you know what . He is doing OK emotionally, still struggling with the feelings, but he keeping himself busy, going to the gym, seeing other people, doing a little traveling, etc.
