On Sunday I asked the coordinator of the body of elders in my congregation about how they translated the term "brazen conduct" into Romanian, but it seems Romanian congregations didn't receive the letter yet, since probably the Kingdom Ministry School sessions will start later in our country.

"I couldn't find anything regarding this 'Religion as a Peace-Maker' lecture. Maybe it was about false religion as a counterfeit peace-maker?"
Yes, Stephan. It surely was. Back in those days (before 1950) the term "religion", without any qualitative adjectives, was applied to what today is refered to as "false religion". Rutherford defined "religion" as 'worship to a creature', and asserted that it has nothing to do with 'worship to God in spirit and truth'. Many splinter groups of the Witnesses stumbled upon this new interpretation and left the organization.

baltar447:
The September 16, 1991, letter is the same letter as this one (so the latter makes the former obsolete), but refering to the Kingdom Ministry Schools organized when they released the 1991 edition of the Pay Attention book.
The June 20, 1994, letter provided elders with some safety measures and proper use guidelines in connection with the book: (1) new elders should read and study the book soon after their appointment, look up all Bible verses, periodically review the book so that the information keeps fresh in mind; (2) electronic use prohibited: "The Society has not released the textbook for use on personal computers. Therefore, if any of you have copies of the textbook in your computer, either on a hard disk or on floppy disks, such copies should be deleted right away"; (3) reminder that the textbook is "confidential" (the word is set in bold in the actual letter), no parts (verbatim quotations) are to be circulated.
Since the Sheparding book is new, there is no need for any policy reminder yet. It will surely come when the Governing Body sees it as being appropriate.

DVD "JW's Faith In Action, part 1 Out of Darkness" Omits! Omits! Omits!
by Wasanelder Once ini've been watching the new dvd and it is a bull fest about russell.
i haven't even gotten half way and they already excluded one very important bit of information.
you'll recall that russell "lost" his faith and "turning away from church creeds and searching for truth, russell examined some leading oriental religions, only to find these unsatisfying".

THIS GENERATION - again! Who belongs to "This Generation"?
by Titus inwhat about dan sydlik and henschel milton, for example?.
they were born in 1919 and 1920 (after 1914), and both died before the "great tribulation".. .
the definition of wt says:.

"Dan Sydlik and Henschel Milton don't fit into the new generation doctrine at all. They didn't see 1914 and they didn't survive until the Great Tribulation."
Dan Sydlik and Milton Henschel are part of this generation, but they are not part of those who will be at hand at Armageddon. According to the current understanding, some of the annointed whose lives overlap with annointed who were at hand in 1914 will survive the great tribulation.
I'm not sure whether it's about annointed ones receiving their calling by 1992 or born before that date. Since according to w10 4/15 it's the "lives" that overlap (some translated editions don't use the word "lives", but "are contemporaries of"), it seems logical that babies born by 1992 and due to receive their heavenly calling in the future might be considered as making part of "this generation". I'll ask an elder to confirm.

A friend of mine, who's a ministerial servant in a Hungarian congregation meeting in our Hall, sent me the audio recording of the talk. The speaker based his introduction on David Walker's life story.—Awake!, December 8, 1985, page 4.

2010 Convention Rumor
by Hikaru inum... a witness sent me this in an email.
it's going around as the rumored program, but there's no proof.. if it is real though...is very last one symbolic?
or is it literal?

@Hikaru: actually the "Chairman's Address" and the talk entitled "Conventions Help Us Stay Close to Jehovah" are two separate talks. The former is the introductory talk and welcome note by the convention chairman. The latter is a common feature of conventions which contains interviews with certain publishers about how they benefited from talks presented in previous district conventions.
Yes, the June issue of the Awake! magazine has been around for almost two weeks on jw.org; that's where this information comes from.
@wobble: i guess the 'Technology' part will refer to internet (IM, social networking, 'apostate' websites etc.), texting, excessive usage of electronic devices as in means of distracting the brothers from fully accomplishing their ministry. As you might remember (it has been mentioned in a thread around here), at the circuit assembly there was a talk where the speaker shed a negative light on social networking platforms (Facebook, hi5).
