Don't pay any attention to the guys, Beksbks ( ). It's a beautiful story. I'm about to put my children to bed now and it will make a beautiful tale for me to tell them before they go to sleep. Thanks.

More Zen for Sylvia
by beksbks inthe story of the cracked potan elderly chinese woman had two large pots , each hung on the ends of a pole , which she carried across her neck.
one of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water , at the end of the long walk from the stream to the house , the cracked pot arrived only half full.. .
for a full two years this went on daily , with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water.

God so LOVED the world.........................................WHY? How could He?
by Terry inthe following is the most quoted scripture in the bible:.
john 3:16 (new international version) .
16"for god so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.. here is a question for you.

Terry, I find your reasoning very interesting. It makes a lot of sense to me. This sentence struck me, "We are being saved from God himself and His wrath". That has been my feeling for a couple of years now but I hadn't succeeded in expressing it in so few words.
The gladiator, your points sound very logical too. I don't know about the Darwin part though, since that's one of the subjects I haven't tackled yet, but I'm sure some surprises are in store for me.

Which Websites Helped You Leave the WT?
by FreudianSlip inthe website that finally opened my eyes to the wt's lies was this one: http://www.towerwatch.com/testimonies/judicial_committee_meeting.htm.
it is an excellent read.
i even wrote to the guy, james caputo, to show appreciation for his courage to post his story on the www all those years ago when there weren't yet a ton of ex-jw sites.

Without a doubt, jwfacts. Exactly due food at the proper time. After a few weeks there, I was ready to meet you guys. Coming across this site first wouldn't have made the trick, but now I can't leave you for a whole day without craving for my computer.
Thanks for the link, Freudianslip. I'll be interested to look into it when I have a few spare minutes. I just began and it was hard to stop reading, but I don't have the time right now.

Dear Angryrat, I'm sorry to say I don't have any legal advice to give you. I just wanted to tell you I have no words to express my sorrow at your situation and to let you know my heart goes out to you. I wish you the best turn in your circumstances that will allow you to have free access to your beloved daughter, with all my heart... You sound like a very strong person. Keep your courage up!

jem from the circuit assembly
by wannaexit ini thought i'd heard it all after spending a life time in this organization.
but for me the following statement uttered at the weekend circuit assembly takes the prize.. during the "pioneer talk"......the speaker said that pioneering enhanced jesus's spirituality.. to imagine that a made up thing like pioneering would enhance the spirituality of the christ.
to those who still believe in christ ....this is so presumptious and proposterous........i just fell off my seat.. it tells me how this organization and its governing body have set themselves up so high .....that they could tell the christ how to live..

Do you miss God?
by wobble inif you are one of the posters on here who has got to the point where you do not believe in god to any great extent, do you miss "him".
i find that i rarely used to ask god for anything, or load him up with my problems, everybody elses were far more urgent, but i did used to feel moved to praise him when i saw the beauties of creation, a sunset etc.. i now feel an urge to still do that, but do not believe anyone is listening, do you get moments like that ?.
love.

I really like your question, Wobble.
I loved Jehovah with my whole heart. And I still feel lots of love for somebody up there, but I don't know who He is or whether He is. I pray as much as I did before, but my prayers are very, very different now. I'm almost sure He is not listening to me or to anybody else. I know now, as Alanv points out, everything I've done so far has been on my own strength. But the love remains...
Yes, I miss that God I so much loved and fully trusted, but His absence in my life now doesn't make me unhappy at all. Just intrigued.
I liked your post, Goinggoinggone.

Dear Josie, you are not really in need of hugs, are you? From the very beginning, that beautiful photograph of you with your loving husband has always drawn my attention every time you post. But if you are, you've got a friend here. I mean it.
