  How would you explain the high levels of depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, and other mental illnesses among Jehovah's Witnesses?

  Well, there's belief, and then there's full-on thought control with all of the associated stresses being placed on one's mind.

  It's been quite the week

  i signed up for a mindfulness course regarding chronic pain.

  we were 16 people and 3 leaders in a huge room.

  sound bounced around and i had a terrible time hearing anything.

  I think that there is currently no way to edit your profile. I think that you can use Gravatar to upload a new profile picture, but I'm not sure. Your profile image is from the pre-gravatar days so I'm not sure it it will work.

  I know what you mean. I'm fortunate to live and work in an area where people are generally open-minded and friendly, with lots of interesting things to be involved in. It's definitely a process, though. Just trying to do simple things like meet the parents of our children's school friends seems like a small victory!

  I will be thinking of you this evening. You know what is at stake, what the score is, and you are at least as prepared as anyone can be.
  A couple of things to keep in mind: first, you will not convince the elders of anything except the need to DF you ASAP. However, any small seed of truth that you can plant is a victory.
  Second, I urge you to try to rise above any feelings of hatred that you may have. Hate destroys. You are intelligent, sincere, and obviously sensitive. Use your good qualities and cultivate them.
  You will be ok. Be strong. Let us know if you need anything.
