We're just imperfect men who make mistakes; obey our every word or God will kill you.
(I cheated by using a semicolon)

Shack, you beautiful bastard, how are you? How was the run with the hound?
Yes, momentum is everything, isn't it?
Reallytrulyathena - awesome! Congrats on your first 5k...it's a great experience, isn't it?
White Dove - I have been in Arizona once, and it was during a hot spell, I think. Arrived at midnight and it was 95 degrees out. I can imagine most physical activities, at least in the southern part of the state, being more tolerable in the evening.
Edited to add: I am seeing more and more of those Five Finger barefoot shoes around. Lots at the race yesterday. Look like Muppet feet.

I told the baptist church pastor that I'm gay!
by TimothyT inhis reaction wasnt as liberal as i hoped it would be.
he said that we needed to discuss it.
however, gone are the days where im putting myself in the firing line and not sticking up for myself.

Thanks for that clarification, screwface. I apologize if I came across as being judgmental; I was simply speaking from my personal experience with the baptist folks that I know personally.
It's good to know that there are churches like yours within the greater baptist community.

Gotcha, Donny. I've read that the benefits of running generally relate to distance and frequency, and not with your pace. 2 miles is 2 miles, regardless. I'm finding that it's a cheap and relatively easy way to stay in shape, to push myself, and to set goals.

I hear what you are saying about wanting some structure and positive thoughts on a Sunday morning, Timothy. The thought is very appealing, and there is nothing wrong with adding this structure and community to your life...as long as you're comfortable with them and they with you.
Many groups offer some sort of 'spiritual' fellowship and encouragement, and many are very accepting of people. I'm assuming, and it is a safe assumption, that the Baptists are NOT going to embrace your sexuality with open arms. So, once you have visited a few other churches , do what LeavingWT often suggests- attend the one with the best food and music.
