  Is the Gospel of Matthew a clever fake ?

  the answer to the above question hinges on when the gospel was actually written.

  many scholars feel it was written some time after the destruction of the temple in 70 c.e.

  if this is so, it is a clever fake, pretending to have been written earlier by an eye-witness to the events, or someone close to an eye-witness.

  How does one disprove the bible? Strange wording, that.

  Do you mean disprove that the events it reports ever happened? Or disprove its supposed claim to be the inerrant word of god? Or disprove.... yada yada. There sure are a lot of claims made about the bible that are taken for granted by many.

  It seems to me that biblical scholars are a very curious, inquisitive bunch. Naughty, naughty scholars! The fact that many of their findings go against much of what was accepted about the bible speaks more about the claims of and about the bible than about the scholars, IMO.

  my 10 year old grandson is in the hospital with really high blood pressure.

  he has a urinary tract blockage which is affecting his kidney function,which resulted in the high blood pressure.

  his dad, soonernc7 and his mom are with him now.

  Generation Issue: The Reason

  the "generation" issue has puzzled me for some time.

  why would the society bring up and keep talking about this issue?

  logically, they should have left the whole thing alone and not brought it up again.. but then i remembered............ once upon a time, i had to deal with a fellow elder who was a real old timer, with lots of connections in the organization.

  It is kind of genius, IMO. The idea that studying the bible alone is not enough has been pounded into the R&F for so many decades. They are counting on the average publisher looking at this teaching and saying, "Wow, I would NEVER have come to that conclusion by just reading Jesus' words! Truly Jehovah is using the organization to dispense deep spiritual truths."

  It goes hand-in-hand with their claim to be the sole channel through which god works. NO ONE ELSE would EVER have come up with this stuff, therefore, it must be from Jehovah.

  Edited to add: And if any low hanging fruit get shaken off in the process, well, no big loss.
