probadd - again good points..............and i realize you are in jest about loaning at 3%................i wouln't loan a plug nickel personally. they have a captive audience and are trying to squeeze water out of rocks at this point. and given the fact that they are downsizing, closing branches and "simplifying" arrangements, plus making substantial gains on sales of trendy NYC property - why crying for more money? what for? shrinkage...sales with profits....cutting down on printing because of internet availability....seems their expenses would be going down....and income from the sales of prime properties is a plus........................so what's it all about?

by raymond frantz ini just came back from the meeting .although the local announcements have been abolished recently as an item for the second part , an elder came on the platform to announce that the society needs more money and there is a letter on the noticeboard for all the congragation to read to this effect.
although the announcement was read half heartedly (this elder's daughter is an apostate ,it looks like he knows what's going on) the implictions are dramatic .
the society in brief,requests any brother or sister with funds sitting on personal accounts to loan them to the society ,he didn't go into any specifics but i will take a picture of the letter next time and make it available here .. i'm not amazed that they're asking for money ,i thought it will happen sooner or later .what i'm amazed is that 99% of the congragation are oblivious to the financial crisis that the society finds itself these days and the reasons why .i can see the future now .the watchtower will be the fist part of the babylon the great to go down in a blaze of scandals and financial troubles !.

I think its hilarious that so many people think that the "Muslim, Kenyan, gay guy" back in office is tha harbinger of doom. I think the Republicans mastery in getting people to vote against their own actual interests is one of the greatest manipulations of our time.

by punkofnice ina good friend of mine who was never a jdub entertains the jws at his door and enjoys a friendly debate with them.. my friend is an atheist/agnostic (let's not get too picky on defenitions here).. the jws see him as fodder for the kingdom hell.
he tells them he knows me and they make no negative comments about me.
obviously they don't want to put him off methinks.. he was given a 'study edition'(tm) to my surprise.. he read it.

hahahah - sounds like a desperation tactic. really, doesn't surprise me....we haven't been in a KH for years - i don't even know how long - i never actually recorded the date of the last time i was there for a regular meeting (outside of one funeral we went to) - but they'll even leave Kingdom ministry's here.........of course the dude that does is 90, and of questionable mental acuity at this time....he comes and counts time listening to my husband's conspiracy theories and Philadelphia Trumpet stuff........it's really funny. sometimes he has a retinue with him....i really wonder about that, but i'm at work and it's his fun afternoon. i personally would not find any interest or enjoyment in it, but hubby has a perverse streak.

PPanhandle Girl - I hope you arent checking your 401k balances daily or even weekly.....the ups and downs can drive you mad!! quarterly works....annually even better - you get a more realistic picture of the growth. And depending on your age, how you have your funds allocated will make a big diffence in the total balance when you need to start drawing on it......I know I am old, and have to stay on the safe side...younger you are the more risk you can assume.... Don't worry about McD's too much.....they are a global obsession....I worry more about the price of oil and the big money-making cartels...milking us for every penny just to heat our homes and keep our vehicles on the road.

I believe we are on a slow but good trend....there will be ups and downs, but the graph is moving upward inching slowly .... we all would love to see great and sudden growth, but it just doesn't work that way. I do think that there is such a proliferation of junk that people waste money on - and real progress for the planet would mean curtailing a lot of useless manufacturing and expenditures and concentrating on what is of true value. Just talk a walk through any toy store and see all the stuff - and it all ends up in waste, landfill..how much does your toddler really need...and what about the appreciation level? ....and hopefully as much as possible gets recycled, but just the same, the damage to the environment ultimately is sad. EVeryone thinks they need the latest and the greatest and that has made us a society demanding instant gratification and along with that high levels of throwaways....ultimately waste. If everyone would become more aware of their personal carbon footprint, not only the economy but the quality of life could improve so wonderfully.

by OneDayillBeFree inso i moved to another hall to better help me fade.
so far it's been great although it is a very long and annoying process!
so i'm very good friends with the coordinating elder in the new hall since we've known each other for years and so instead of mailing them to the other hall he decided to pass them on to my dad so he could give them to me and for me to give them to the other hall.

"Emergency KM School?"

post.. talking to an elder yesterday, he stated he was going to km school next week and that it was an "emergency" km school being held all over the country and that all the circuits had to purchase projectors for the school.....but he couldn't say anything else (secret society bs)little does he know the details can be found here on jwn.. any undercover elders know what this is about?.
