Christmas Field Service
by NeverKnew inon another thread, i read that a few adherents may be traveling (cough-cough) to other cities and wouldn't be able to make field service on christmas day.. what is the likelihood that going out on christmas will be encouraged at the weekend services at the khs?
...or do most halls stay neutral on this?
given what i've read on this forum, i have the impression that disrespecting a day of other's celebration wouldn't be discouraged which annoys the heck out of me..

I will be listening to my sister sing at Mass (she's a cantor). After that, there's opening gifts and a big family dinner at her house.

JW ban on blood-transfusion is hung upon nothing!
by abiather inif the blood of a perfect man could be used for saving man eternally,.
why cant the blood of an imperfect human be used for saving man temporarily?.

"Blood represents life."
Therefore: donate blood!

Do you frown upon tattoos?
by confusedandalone ini am very interested in hearing from people who really think that people with tattoos are somehow weird or cagey individuals.
i would just like to get your outlook on this matter.
today i was in a grocery store and i sawe this guy with his two kids and his wife shopping.

Enjoy how a new tattoo looks, because that's as good as it ever will be. Aging, streching skin will take away the image's sharpness; sun and time will change the colors; fashions will make the artwork passe.
And never, ever tattoo a girlfriend's or boyfriend's name on yourself--tattoo artists know those are good for repeat business, to undo the branding when that "soul-mate forever" becomes your Ex!

Can WTBTS legally do this for international conventions.
by joe134cd ini was just reading this on jwservey with regard to the international conventions.
if an individual selected to attend a special convention loses his exemplary status and is no longer qualified to attend, the delegate should be thoroughly informed of the reason for your decision.
such a person would be fully responsible for any financial loss associated with his abrupt disqualification as a delegate, even up to the time he was supposed to depart.. .

As far as pre-paid exenses go, that depends on the contracts signed (if any), who are the parties to the contracts, and which jurisdiction's laws apply to them. Not knowing those things, even a legal professional can't say if it's legal.
But whether or not it is legal, unless somebody pushes back the result is the same. An exemplary (sheep-like) Witness is unlikely to question decisions of the Watchtower Society, so most often the Society will have their way. Tech49's example illustrates how this works: the brother surrendered without significant resistance, and the Watchtower Society wins by default.

No one should keep originals or copies of any of those letters.
Why are they destroying them? They may regret putting that order in writing so an oppising attorney can use it against them.
