Yeah, if you are still married, you need to end that marriage first BEFORE persuing this witness woman.

Funny demon conversation
by problemaddict inminimus inspired me to recall a crazy conversation i had with a houseguest at my home while i was one of jw's and even serving.
i had a houseguest say that she couldn't sleep all night, and then she found a birthday card in her friends room that someone at work gave her innocently enough.
she burned it and said she could finally sleep.. i asked her if she knew how long ago her friends birthday was?

You know, thinking about how gullible I used to be back in those days, I remember ordering a pendant that was suppose to bring good luck to its wearer. Our Lady Of Medjugorje was what was on the pendant. In the box, there were ads for other charms, my favorite was "Rub the Buddha for money."

I remember when I use to attend an IFB church called Open Bible Baptist Church the pastor would go on and on about demon possessed items. My friends had some of their hard rock and heavy metal CDs tossed in the trash. I remember even burning some of the items I had that I thought were demon possessed.
Boy, what an idiot I was.

Questions for your JW Friends & Family
by tallguy345 ini've gotten nowhere debating theology with the jws in my life as a result of circular logic.
are you 100% sure of your beliefs?.
have you proven them to yourself?.

I question I like to use is, "If you knew you had the ability to prove your beliefs true beyond all doubt and failed to act, what would Jehovah think of you in the afterlife?" This is a particular favorite of mine when I ask my wife to prove the selection in 1919, which she fails to even attempt to do. She justifies it by saying that if she did prove, my heart is not willing to receive it. "Great," I thought, "great excuse to justify you're not willing to put ANY effort in it at all." I hope for her sake, Jehovah agrees with her reasoning.

Are you 100% sure of your beliefs? Have you proven them to yourself? Are you willing to bet your very existence on it?
These three was what got me to research religions in general. After all, if my everlasting life depended on my finding the right belief system and following it, I would make darn sure I know what that belief system was. For me, it was a simple choice, follow the WT or stay with my previous beliefs in Christianity. The Watchtower lost very quickly. After a while I began to see that even my previous beliefs cannot be 100% certain either.

how did you meet? Did she tell you up front she was a JW? Is she trying to go back?
We met at a store where we both use to work.
Did I know? Yes, I kind of figured it out. You see, I had a friend who was a witness so I sort of knew a little about their beliefs. Of course, her father made it real clear when he found out we were dating and came running up to me one day to 'lay down the law.'
I think she is teetering, not sure if she wants to go back, torn between pleasing her mother and living according to 'God's' standards and wanting to live her own life.

My mother-in-law sent a letter to me after my wife and I moved in together and said that she had left Jehovah for me. I could not believe what I was reading, my mother-in-law was saying that my wife chose me over Jehovah. What really struck me as odd about it was that I attended church myself and considered myself to be very Christian.
Of course, I know now why she though this way, but back then I did not know better.

by 70wksfyrs inthis weeks km disscusses the topic of why jehovah's witnesses are not false prophets.. on page 136 and 137 of the reasoning book, it asks and answers the following question:.
have not jehovahs witnesses made errors in their teachings?.
jehovahs witnesses do not claim to be inspired prophets.

*sigh*
I've said this before and I will say it again. If the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society is not a false prophet, neither is Harold Camping.

Well, just sent my e-mail.
John, Regarding your article about witnesses on this web page. http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/arts-and-life/life/faith/witnesses-explore-new-way-of-witnessing-220914021.html All I have to ask is did you actually research this? That is beyond what the witnesses or their publications told you. Because it does not appear that you did. Witnesses have been doing street witnessing for a long time, a lot longer than what your article states for example. You should really do real research on what you publish, how is anyone suppose to take your writings seriously if what you write contains obvious errors? Sincerely, Gary Neal
