Again, he is doing something, just not what you want or how you want it. If you only wanted just athiest answers, then directyour questions to them. You're name calling does nothing to demonstrate your point of view.

Tell that to the blind children who are blind because a parasite lives in the river that they get their drinking water from. I'm sure that they will be happy that they have free will and god is not interfering with their rights. Again, I reinterate, this life is not all there is. While you're here pretending to be a "happyguy" They are most likely in heaven enjoying eternity. Geesh. And since you're so concerned for them get your butt away from the computer, buy the medication and get it down there. Or are you waiting for someone else to do it, like God or the government?
We are in a fallen world, crap happens, he does give us guidelines or instructions to live by that will make our lives better and for us to make other lives better. And he will take care of all wickedness in armegedon. He is doing something, what are YOU doing?

Hi monkeyman,
It was said to me verbally, more than once. Im at work so Ill have to see if I can find a direct quote, but here is something similar.
1981 "We all need help to understand the Bible, and we cannot find the
scriptural guidance we need outside the 'faithful and discreet slave'
organization.'" (Watchtower, February 15, 1981, p.19) -

I would say God has stepped in. How? Through people. You say you see evil in crime, natural disasters , starving in third world countries, & people suffering from diseases. I see this too, however, I see a lot of good also.
I see people volunteer as victim advocates, giving up their own time & resources to comfort others & provide them with counseling. I see people coming to the aid of those who have lost their homes, building new ones, providing food & temporary shelter. I see people building wells & opening schools in third world countries and I see people raising money for breast cancer or Aids research, giving up a Saturday to run a race. I’ve seen people rise to great heights in life, despite the suffering they’ve endured, not asking “Why me“, but rather, “Why not me?”
God gives all of us free will. If it were forced, and he intervened, it wouldn’t be free will. Sometimes we do good, sometimes we do evil. We are not puppets.
The bible tells us he uses us (not forcing us, but using those who wish to be used) for the good of others. Governments to exercise justice 1Peter 2:12-14 & people to comfort others 2 Cor. 1:4-6
If your view is that this life is all there is , then I can see your frustration, but I take comfort in believing that whatever we suffer in this world will be rewarded . Romans 8:18 “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.” -

"Autobiography of a Died-Again Christian"
by leavingwt ini enjoyed a number of the points in this essay.
dr. jaco gericke's deconversion story: "autobiography of a 'died-again' christian<snippets>.
it was a little late in the day, however, when i realised that studying theology can be a downright dangerous business for any believer.

After leaving the "organization" I read as much forbidden stuff as I could get my hands on. I wondered if I might lose my belief in God altogether, as many here have.
It finally came down to whether or not I believed Jesus was a real person, died & resurrected. If he wasn't, then pooey on it all. After researching both secular and scriptural sources, I concluded he had, indeed, been born, died & was resurrected. I needed some evidence to have faith. Jesus himself performed miracles to give evidence of who he was. He didn't say "Hey, Im the Messiah cause I said so." he backed up his words with tangable evidence. I see nothing wrong with asking to see some evidence.
Where I may differ from other Christians, is that I focus on Jesus & his sayings as the "Word of God", not necessarily the whole new testament, because I believe the apostles & their associates did their best to write down what happened to the best of their recollection, but they were people just like us who make mistakes.
It kind of bugs me that some say a person was never a christian to begin with , if they left. Reminds me of the jws who were shocked after 22 years that I would ever leave, then have them say " She was never one of us" I don't claim to understand it all, thats just my humble opinion.
I could be wrong, but it wouldn't be the first time.

I'm so sorry for your loss of your dear mother & the cold treatment you received at the memorial.
It's deplorable, but I hope you find comfort here.

Does anyone know if he's still in good standing, considering that there weren't two witnesses to his crime?
