today is my daughter's 11th birthday and she is super excited.
and today i baked her a boston blackout cake just as i did last year.
the smell of it baking reminded me that this was when we made our first stand for our children and was a significant step as we exited.
Happy birthday to your daughter! That cake does look delish!
i must confess, regretsy is my "guilty pleasure".
it's a website that picks the most oddball items on etsy and makes fun of them.
for those not aquainted, etsy is a website for selling handmade items.
The comments are hilarious!
"higher education: jesus warned against seeking your own glory.

1:9,10.. grzegorz, the computer programmer, made some changes in his life.
Wow- love the part about how school would rob him of "time and energy", so he gets more involved in the congo. Hahahaha!
Hmm, go to school to get a good job or work hard for free at the Hall? Who writes this shit?
so, i found out a friend of mines cousin overdosed on drugs the other.
its absolutely awful.
i got a text from my mom this morning that said her friend who lives across the street from them said they had an overdose across the street.
When I was in high school, a school friend of mine was killed in a car accident. One of the girls my age was saying, "Why does [Jadeen] care?" and "Well, he's not going to be in the New System."
Such sympathy and compassion
tim here.... ok... stupid question.... if i buy a thumb ring will it make me look gay in the kingdom hall?.
incidently i am a gay jw and i dont want to let on to any brothers, but i realy like the idea of having one to look cool!.
is that gay?
Haha mrsjones!
Tim, I don't think a thumb ring will make you "look gay". My husband has several that he likes to wear.
But it might make you look like you're trying to be (gasp) an individual!
and now for something completely nerdy,.... http://www.piday.org/.

i've changed a lot in the last year or so.
maybe some for the good, and some not so good.
but, looking back, i didn't like myself as a witness.. it turns me off when i hear about the judgmental comments an older pioneer sister made.
I also feel that my personality and attitude have changed for the better since leaving. I feel more compassionate and have empathy for others. Now, I'll get teary over sad stories that I hear on the radio or read about. It sometimes feels like my emotions were stunted while I was growing up as a JW, and now they're catching up!
I talked on Facebook earlier with a friend of mine in Okinawa- she said that they hadn't had anything there.
Hopefully Possible-san is in a safer area!
