being in a good mood that particular day, i told them that if they could prove that god existed, i'd become a jovie - and i meant every word.. they gave me two documents which they asked me read and told me that they'd be back in a week.

That is the modus operandi of this cult. The Rank and file are told they get the best education possible on religion and science through the litter-trash produced by the WTS. So when they knock on your door they really believe they have knowledge that you don't.
Remember that cults thrive on providing simplistic answers to complex questions to people who are too lazy to do their own research.

The truth is, in many congregations the goalposts are continually being moved for those who are reaching out, in the end enthusiasm wanes and the young brother gives up trying.
Alternatively the young brother looks at the stressed out, overworked elders and thinks "I don't want want to end up like those suckers!"

Ha Ha! I vaguely remember this, all I could think about was the decimation of raptors in the UK due to the insecticide DDT. I hoped we would see more birds of prey here. Strangely enough when I was a child in the 70's buzzards were very rare, they are now the most common bird of prey in the UK.....................Armageddon must be close, -

Äkta Människor (Real Humans)
by Simon inwe've just started watching this swedish parallel-present series about human-like robots (hubots) seeking independence.. its really well done but subtitled (if you didn't mind the original "girl with the dragon tattoo") and the best description of it i was saw the stepford wives meets blade runner.
kind of creepy and unsettling and touches on some adult themed topics (robots for sex).. anyone else seen it?
i only started watching because i was too lazy to get up and get the remote one night but it was pretty gripping.. .

Religious ideas need to be ridiculed, stupidity and ignorance should not be left unchallenged.
Better to be mocked and ridiculed than beheaded, burnt at the stake or imprisoned, which is religion's answer to "heresy".
