i had a pony .
she would carry me places far away, times yet to pass .
we would journey to winter, there protected from his wrath, .

my father passed peacefully at 1:07 am this morning.
i wish to thank you for being so nice to my dad.
A man's worth is measured not in money but in how he lived and the number of people he reached out to with a loving hand.
Tortured Soul, your worth is great. Rest friend and wait for us.

now, the war is over, the weapons were not used and of course have not been found.. how threatening could they be if they did not even use them when being invaded by a massive force (of the countries they hate)?!
perhaps, as many suspect, they didn't use them because they didn't have them?.
now we're being told that we'll have to be patient and give them time to find them.
Hi Rem,
No, he claimed if I remember correctly that the trucks shown being moved from one place to another proved that Iraq was hiding the WMD or the materials for them from the U.N. inspectors. To my knowledge he was not claiming they were mobil labs.

Hi William Penwell,
Thanks for the reply. Yes, it was flawed intelligence! But not the kind spy satellites supply.
For the Bush Administration to think that they can on the one hand before the war prove WMD, or the materials for them, were being moved using satellite photos of a few trucks but then after the war claim a big bunch of trucks carrying WMD must have been moved out of the country without their knowledge in an insult to the American people.
The flawed "intelligence" is the Bush Administration itself, they are forgeting the great axiom of politics: You can fool all of the people some of the time and you can fool some of the people all of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time!
They are digging a political hole for themselves and for America. The phrase "God Bless America" should be "God! Bless America and get George out of there!"

Hi to everyone on this thread. I have not kept up with all the postings here so if what I have to say has already been covered please excuse my post.
Remember when Secretary Colin Powell appeared before the U.N. and held up photos showing evidence that Iraq was moving around WMD or whatever. The photos were taken by satellite I believe and showed trucks being moved from one place to another.
What I don't understand is that if we could "see" them moving trucks around in their country how is it we could not "see" them moving all the WMD out of their country? Isn't that what some in the U.S. are now saying, that possibly the WMD were moved out before the war? How is it our intelligence gathering efforts could pick up a couple of trucks being moved around the country months before the war but did not "see" a whole bunch of trucks being driven out of the country just before the war?

the story of teejay and the kosmokrator.
teejay, a man of valor, approached the cave of mithras without fear.
he entered and walked to the front of the temple, stood before the great bull-slaying the tauroctony of mithras, then turned and faced the worshipers.. "men, i teejay stand here with a word of caution for all who worship mithras the kosmokrator.
So have you stopped beating your men?
LOL, of course not! I usually "beat" my men on the wild shore of the Atlantic Ocean, they don't usually complain about it though.

is it wrong for a man to cry when he feels pain, either physical or emotional pain.
we all know that women cry when they become emotional, but for a man, is it appropriate or not appropriate to cry.
is it seen as weakness for a man to cry?
Certainly it is OK for a man to cry. Man or woman we all have our moments when the hurt or the feelings overwhelm us and our emotions spill out of our eyes. Some of us are more emotional than others and some are conditioned not to cry, some women are conditioned to remain stoic no matter what.
Men can and should cry if they are moved to. It is only human.

SixofNine,
IW, do you ever take off your sexist colored glasses?
That was a "Yes or No, have you stopped beating your wife?" type of question. LOL If you want an answer could you tell me, what did I say on this thread that added to your opinion that I am sexist or was your question/accusation a rhetorical one?
For what it's worth I change the "color" of my glasses frequently, I also think it is impossible for anyone to see without some "color" in their glasses, don't you? But if you feel I am sexist that's okay. You are entitled to your opinion just as we all are.
Have a good evening, SixofNine.

Andee,
I have personally noted, after being a member on this board for nearly two years, that if one is a "true" XJW (by that, I mean has cut ties and has completely rejected all doctrines), that quite the opposite is true. I think that XJW are much less likely to be led by anyone or anything. The taste of bitter betrayal by leaders, and the despair of destroyed, or lost, family, is a constant reminder of the devastation blind following can bestow on the unquestioning.
I understand what you're trying to say but in practice the working definition of XJW is much broader and inclusive than the one you used above. Each of us are in our own transition into a new world and the transition must be made at our own pace. Everyone here, to one degree or another, is an exJW whether they are still in or out or just lurking because just to be here is a defiance of the Governing Body and a declaration of spiritual independence from them.
Some further thoughts:
As for the story at the top of this thread, the character "Teejay" was calling for the men in the temple to erect a god of "self-determined right thinking" feeling that it was in their best interests. Mithras though took offense to being called a god and ran with that disregarding, for the most part, the main point of "Teejay's" speech.
It is very interesting because here on this board the use of the word "leader", as applied to some of the top Tower fighting male posters here, is frowned upon by said posters, they seem to be rankled by it. Yet imo there is nothing wrong with the word and it, I feel, can be properly applied to some who are looked up to and respected for all their hard work and vigilance in exposing the Watchtower. They are leaders. Loved, respected leaders. Possibly it is humility which makes them dislike the term, I don't know.
When the GB members claim not to be prophets yet they run a show which does attempt to prophesy we all see the fallacy in their claim. It is the same with some here who take the lead in the fight, they are leaders. To be disturbed at being called such is not to recognize the position of power and of responsibility that they command.
There are exJWs who are hurting and as long as there are hurting people there will be vulnerable people, people who look for someone to help them sort out the mess they have in their head and hearts because of the Watchtower. Here they find friends and fellow feeling, they also find men who they can count on and respect. But even the smallest person, the simplest person, the person in the shadows has something of worth to contribute and should feel equal enough to make known their opinion and safe enough to do so without fearing that to contradict a prominent poster is to die a slow death.
If they do not feel safe and free to speak their mind without fear of "tough love" reprisals from the kings among us than we have not moved too far from the Watchtower after all.

the james ossury, and another piece (a inscription relating to repairs to the temple) have today been declared fakes by the body of scientists tasked by the israeli antiquities authority; no url reference, this is off the radio (bbc world service).
No Apologies,
That's why no one gets too bent out of shape over whether they were "real" or not.
Of course you are right. But to be bent out of shape for 2000 years over whether or not Jesus existed is a bit much, imo. This is the problem with blind faith, there is no proof so the "discussion" will be endless, without firm resolution. Of course the true believers need no proof as the disbelievers also need no proof of their own position in order to continue holding it, maybe it's more of a "the winner takes all" kind of thing.
