According to COC the Governing Body meets on Wednesdays so if that's still the case perhaps they're spending some quality time reading your threads which would explain the delay in removing the latest links. Or, more likely, they're disagreeing as to what do about them. :)

I assumed that whether one identifies as an atheist or agnostic or religious, most have the same heart and conscience and are moved to help others in need. Will "Unbelievers Giving Aid" accept donations from believers or unlike the Red Cross do they prefer to keep the giving to those who believe only as they do? I doubt that most religious charities care what the religious belief or non-belief is of those whose hearts move them to give.

Mr. Dawkins is too reactive. Let it be, all will sort itself out in time.

Your analogy is, imo, flawed. True, there are abusive spouses whose power over their mates is so strong, or the fear so great, that the abused mate will not leave or prefers to look at whatever good they can find in order to justify staying. But for many moderate Christians the main draw is love not fear. Love for the Christ moves moderate Christians to keep going. Love has thrown fear out of the way because they trust the Christ and their Father.

Science is only as good and accurate as the men and women who produce it. Science is not a god. Science is a process of discovery that like the JW religion depends on "new light" to keep moving forward and at times also dispenses with the old light because it is no longer believed or has become outdated. Science has not proven itself reliable in everything it believes and teaches. At one time some scientists thought the black race inferior others thought it was a good idea to treat acne with radiation or that "no worries" pesticides will help feed the world and so on. I read recently that the rate of degradation of radiocarbons is not an absolute constant as many have thought. I can't say I agree or disagree but it is true that science changes and all we can do is enjoy what is produced while at the same time not slavishly believing everything we are told.
