I think it came across confused bc of the editing and bc he had to explain something very difficult which must encompass several mutally contradictory theories.

I could explain it better, even though this guy probably knows way more than I do.
Well, perhaps :-)
Quantum mechanics predicts that completely empty space is unstable and via statistics and probability, lumps of energy and mass will coagulate within that space. As a result of Einstein's General Theory of Relativity, that will result in more space and time, which will in turn result in more matter and energy. This is the mis-named "big bang" which is really just a big expansion.
Ipad version: I dont quite recognise this explanation. If we accept inflation, an account for the origin of our universe must account for the origin of the inflationary state (field) which is thought to be different than coagulated matter (i am not sure what the coagulation refers to). Right now there are two main contenders. one is quantum gravity where space itself is quantized and thus quantum fluctuations will ( very simplified) correspond to the origin of new space in some accounts in an inflationary state.
the second main account is guth-lindes theory of Chaotic inflation where the inflationary field undergo local quantum fluctuations and thus keeps creating universets with different properties (laws)
Both accounts reflect many different variants (past eternal or not etc) and none are known to be true.

* Modification of a core teaching such as the 144'000 being symbolic
* Slight change (of some kind) to the way publishers are counted
* NO decrease in numbers. The numbers in the 2017 yearbook will look better than those for this year (regression towards the mean)
* With reduced focus on 3rd world countries there will be a (small) breakout group in a 3rd world country. It will not be mentioned by the WT
* Further reduction in the number of printed pages
* WT and Awake remains two magazines
* A new GB member will be announced & host a jw.tv show
* A jw.tv show will have a long feature about a bethelite returning to a congregation and how great that is
* One more meeting part will be done by video

The positive achievements of Science and Religion in 2015. How do they compare?
by nicolaou inscience.. landed a probe on a comet, found liquid water on mars and successfully completed a ten year mission to pluto.. developed the first successful vaccine against ebola, discovered another human species in homo naledi, developed cancer killing molecules and high intensity ultrasound therapies which avoid surgery and leave healthy cells alone.
successfully mapped the human epigenome and developed the gene editing tool crispr, it's potential for medical and agricultural advance is staggering!.
found a way to produce graphene for a 1000th of the previous cost, developed cheap and sustainable methods to supply clean drinking water where water borne infections have been killing thousands, scaled up production of clean, renewable energy.. there's loads more, please feel free to add to the list.. .

Well, Aslan the lion just came to the board and told us the worlds is going to end before the next season of GoT, I think that's pretty significant. -

Prediction: jw.org sign up with monthly subscription fee
by bohm inthe wtbs is changing media from print to online.
if we look at other companies doing the same the obvious buissness model is subscription with a monthly fee people can choose themselves.
the wtbs can continue to offer everything for free, however subscribers might earn a button for social media or somesuch ("wtbs donor").

this would Secure a stable and significant revenue stream and would not violate the no tithing part since it was voluntary and not done at meetings. Furthermore all jw who subscribe to online mags or services could be guilted into suscribing to the most important website in the world.
Anyone else think this might happend soon?

Thanks for posting!
Huge shoutout for the poster who first leaked these numbers. I got to say I think these numbers are better for the WTBS than I expected with no drop in the western world. This indicates (?) the lack of growth is in 3rd world countries (someone should figure out where the reduction in growth is happening) and with these being the most affected by cutbacks the coming year 2016 is properly not going to be stellar either.
That said, with growth curves there is a regression towards the mean implying that we should be expect 2016 not to be as bad as this year for the WTBS.
Interesting times...
