the great day of god the almighty certainly is a fit description for the destruction of men, women, children, grandmothers, infants and puppy dogs in the days of noah.. why didn't destroying everybody on earth except a remnant of 8 count as armageddon?.
i mean, if you are starting all over by genocide--shouldn't it count for more than bad temper?.
what are we missing?.

If he is going to give "free will" at the point of a gun and STILL NOT ACHIEVE His aims---then allowing the clock to run on yet another Armageddon-style holacaust just seems pointless and redundant.
Is that a question or a statement?
If it is a question:
Then I think that there is only one very extraordinary thing that "free will" affords that might make all the suffering worthwhile.
........................ Love
Without "free will", love is not possible!
You cannot command someone to "Love".
It HAS to be voluntary.
I think that all of the armageddons both past and future are worth it even if there is only just one small handful of volunteers left.
What is the alternative?
God is Love.

the watchtower states that the great tribulation.... will start when the united nations attacks babylon the great.
it appears individual states of the usa are starting to get that ball rolling right now.. .
with the world wide child sexual abuse cover-ups across the globe getting special attention from the media.. legislators across the usa seem to have lost the fear of getting the nod of disapproval of 'clergy', especially from the younger members.. law professor marci a. hamilton writes, "across the country, the movement for justice for child-sex-abuse victims is finding that conversations that used to begin with a discussion of the catholic bishops' opposition (and then often ended abruptly) are now started by a member's saying, "they don't deserve deference on this issue.
Who fears the Great Tribulation? Not Jehovah's Witnesses. We will be among the few that survive it.
Isaiah 28:14-15
Because YOU men have said: "We have concluded a covenant with Death; and with She´ol we have effected a vision; the overflowing flash flood, in case it should pass through, will not come to us, for we have made a lie our refuge and in falsehood we have concealed ourselves";
We have concluded a covenant with Death;.. Millions Now Living Will Never Die .... they positively will not die.
Isaiah 28:18
And YOUR covenant with Death will certainly be dissolved, and that vision of YOURS with She´ol will not stand. The overflowing flash flood, when it passes through—YOU must also become for it a trampling place.
Jehovah's Witnesses are the key target of the Great Tribulation!

now i am going to do a rear thing here and i am going to stick up for the wts.
i realise that the wts hasn't got the best of track record, and sure they have made mistakes.
but if i was to go to another church wouldn't they still have the same issues.
If you did some research into this scripture 1 Cor 11:27 you will notice these christians who gathered to celebrate the Lords evening meal gathered in a private home. The WTBTS uses this scripture to perpetrate the idea if you partake unworthly, than this is committing the unforgiveable sin. NOT TRUE!!!!!. What was happening here is this, these Christians were abusing this event, they skipped eating on this particular day and had their "personal" meal of the day at someone else's expence. Just look at vs 33-34. So the CUSTOM was to gather in small groups share a meal and then fellowship. NOT as we see it in todays eccelestical settings.
Please notice that in; "the lords day" the gathering for memorial becomes a very individual event rather than something congregational:
Revelation 3:19-22
"‘All those for whom I have affection I reprove and discipline. Therefore be zealous and repent. 20 Look! I am standing at the door and knocking. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come into his [house] and take the evening meal with him and he with me. 21 To the one that conquers I will grant to sit down with me on my throne, even as I conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22 Let the one who has an ear hear what the spirit says to the congregations.’"
So what the Watchtower teaches is even more insidious that Brother of the Hawk has indicated above!
Unless his, him and he could possibly mean their, them and they.
But it doesn't ...................... right!
In the Lords day this "gathering together" Watchtower Dogma is made completely redundant by ........................... Jesus Christ!

1. i wasn't inside the committee meeting and i don't know what was said or what you were accused of.
being a fair-minded and loving person i've decided to ignore the secret nature of those proceedings and simply accept blindly that you are in the wrong without hearing your side of it.
because i'm loyal to the governing body and to no one else.. 2. to save myself the embarassment of having to exercise my own conscience i'm going to ignore you and your plea for fairness and empathy.
So try and imagine exactly what they are saying about us in the Kingdom Hall.
Are we the victims or the victors?
Matthew 5:11-12
"Happy are YOU when people reproach YOU and persecute YOU and lyingly say every sort of wicked thing against YOU for my sake. 12 Rejoice and leap for joy, since YOUR reward is great in the heavens;
Yes, its a paradox I see happening right here on this forum!

Its really tragic when the victims think they are victors!
Something even more tragic I often see in this forum is when the victors think they are the victims.
You are the victors!
Don't whine!
Lead the way!

Yes, its a paradox which few can wrap their minds around.

The most revealing moment in a person's character is when they are confronted with somebody they can feel superior to.
Terry,
I read through all those reasons and think to myself that these people (Ex-JWs) must think they are the victims.
Thats just wrong!
Ex-JWs are the victors!
Maybe everybody else is looking through the other end of their telescope?
All an Ex-JW has to do is treat their JW family (and everyone else) exactly the way we ourselves would like to be treated.
If an Ex-JW can actually do that then he/she is the winner!
We will be doing exactly what Jesus Christ said we should do.
When we stand in front of Jesus Christ to be judged having accomplished the above then is there anything we should be ashamed of?
Nope, we are not the victims!

okay we've all beat our chest, lamented and throttled the dead horse of aawa.. time to move on!.
i suggest those of us on j-w.n who care about creating something the right way take the trouble to get the framework going.. let's do the grunt work and get the nattering, debates, naming and organizing already pre-approved so that "others" who have the talent, ability, motivation and resources can move in and turn the key!.
because it was not done before.. there is more wisdom on this discussion board in our vast numbers than there could possibly be in a virtual boardroom with 8 people brain-storming.. that isn't an insult--it is just a statistical fact!.
as one poster did - make a flyer we can all copy
